Best Dog trainer ever,Steve is amazing,he has managed to get my extremely fearful staffy salem to go on walks again without being fearful of everything,I'm so amazed at the progress he has make,thank you Steve for all the knowledge and confidence you have given me.

We had a great two sessions on lead walking with Steve, we have noticed such a difference in such a short space of time. Steve was so friendly, helpful and explained everything very well to us so we understood exactly why we were doing the training and how it helped our cocker spaniel when walking on the lead. We also really enjoyed the sessions, including our dog Ronnie. We would definitely recommend Steve from Mad4Mutts!! Thank you again for all your help!

Thank you Steve for your kind, effective, patient, consistent training of us to train Molly. She absolutely loved her Puppy Class sessions, as did we. More importantly her progress has been amazing. At nearly 5 months old she can be relied upon to ‘come’ when called, ‘sit’ nicely when asked and to ‘wait’. She will also ‘fetch’ a ball. Today we let her off the lead on the beach and she absolutely adored it, but she came running back when asked. With your instruction we’ve learned to direct her boundless enthusiasm into positive behaviour and Molly is developing into a well behaved and happy little dog.

Stephen helped our Golden Retriever overcome intense resource gaurding of which he had since we got him at 9 weeks old. It was ever so stressful for us and the dog, and had bitten me on more than one occasion, as he would turn from a loving pup to a demon dog when guarding! Stephen gave us the confidence, knowledge, and training on how to deal with it effectly, with not just the gaurding, but many other areas such as recall training, pulling and other behavioural issues we were struggling with. The resource guarding has now almost cease completely, and if it ever crops up we know how to deal with it. Can't reccomend Mad4Mutts enough!

Words can’t describe how happy I am with the help I’ve received from Steve. My reactive dog is completely transformed after only 2 sessions. Steves understanding of how a dogs brain works is so fascinating. The sessions were interesting informative and easy to understand. Always followed up with a plan sent through email. It’s so nice to finally be able to go out on a dog walk with a dog who isn’t anxious around other dogs. She just wants to mingle and play. Honestly never thought we’d get there. And actually what Steve has taught me seems so simple! 10/10 I would (and have) recommend Steve with any issues you may have with your dog. He really does know his stuff. Thanks Steve! We can’t thank Steve enough for all the help we’ve had with our English Bulldog Gus! He has gone from being a reactive and nervous dog, to being friendly and more confident in a matter of weeks. We still have some more work to do but the improvements we’ve seen so far give us so much hope for the future. Thank you Steve for everything!

Absolutely brilliant time with our puppy at Mad4Mutts. We joined for the 5 week puppy class course and learnt so much, even though this is our 8th dog. Steve, the trainer is so laid back and endlessly patient. At times it doesn't even feel as though much training is being done as the pups are allowed free time to play but the dogs (and owners) are fully engaged and constantly taking everything in. By the end of the course our puppy has a very good grasp of basic commands. We finished the course with some very useful training tools so that we can continue to build on this very solid foundation. Mad4Mutts will take on dogs that others have given up with and the puppy course takes into account what it is that causes dogs to get into these often desperate situations to ensure that this is avoided in the pups coming through the programme. I look forward to enrolling on the advanced 'adolescent' behaviour training course.

Steve has been working with our 4 year old Great Dane X for the last few weeks and we have seen such a huge improvement in behaviour! We came to Steve looking for support with reactivity to dogs and barking at anything from the window, people coming to the door etc. Steve has a really calm, warm approach it has been an absolute pleasure to work with him. We had instant improvement after the first session! It was us being trained really, how to communicate with our dog more effectively. Up until training started we were very limited on where we could walk, and I hadn't been able to do so myself, my husband and son were doing this. 2nd session we met at Babbacombe Downs, to put the work we'd been practicing at home, into action. It was such a positive experience! 3rd session we met at Preston as higher dog traffic. It is incredible that after those 1st 2 sessions, lot's of practice in between, we could actually walk her and in a calm manner in an open space around other dogs! At home it is much more relaxed, place and stay works a treat for answering the door, calms the barking if there is a reaction to noise outside. If you are contemplating whether it is worth contacting Mad4Mutts for help with your dog I would 100% recommend it. We were giving up hope of ever getting back to a point we could walk around other dogs. It takes perseverance and dedication to build new routines, but it is most definitely worth it. Thank you guys for giving us our joy back!

I have not had a puppy for 20+ years and was so happy to find a trainer who so successfully combined incentives and boundaries in training. We enjoyed puppy school so much that we can't wait to progress to adolescent class.

I first met Steve at puppy classes and we found them informative, helpful and Steve’s style easy to follow. We went on to have a series of 1-2-1 sessions and it has helped teach the skills I need, given me confidence, reassured to remain consistent and most of all, Mollie just adores Steve! I’ve learn’t so much and can’t recommend Mad4Mutts highly enough. We’ll be back for more!

Honestly an incredible trainer! Me and my Labrador puppy have faced a few bumps in the road but Mad4Mutts has really helped myself and him not only with general training but also later ongoing issues. Very professional and knowledgable. I feel reassured and understood with my puppies training and the methods/ techniques I have been shown and taught. I will continue to use these throughout his life. I Would highly recommend to anybody.

I literally can not thank Steve enough for all he has done for me and my rescue dog Woody. When I got in touch with Steve, I literally was worried I was going to have to give our dog back to the rescue organization- Woody was reactive to people, dogs, cars, bikes- you name it. My husband kept saying "this dog is not working." I had not slept in three weeks and was crying every day as I was so tired and frustrated. I had already paid hundreds with another 'behaviorist' and was literally at my wits end. Steve changed everything. Three sessions in, Woody is going on hour walks, calmly navigating people, cars, dogs, bikes and children. He is a joy to be around, and I have never been more in love with a dog. I owe Steve my sanity and my marriage, and am so thankful for all of the unending support and care he has given our family and our special dog. I can not recommend highly enough. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE!
