We felt right at home in this stylish, modern Italian apartment in historic Palazzo Mainetti-Sanmarchi, in Bologna’s desirable Quadrilatero neighborhood. The location is exceptional, with luxury shopping, specialty food shops, Piazza Maggiore and major attractions all within easy walking distance. The apartment is beautifully designed, secure & thoughtfully equipped, with a well-stocked kitchen, Nespresso machine, tea kettle, washer & dryer, comfortable bedrooms, ample storage & elevator for easy access with luggage. The layout is ideal for two couples, with private bathrooms and bedrooms at opposite ends of the hallway. A third bedroom & office offer additional space. Alessandra is a wonderful host—responsive, helpful & generous in accommodating early check-in. She provided excellent guidance on nearby parking, taxis & private drivers, particularly useful given limited car access in this historic district. A perfect home base for exploring Bologna. We want to come back!

The location of the apartment was right in the middle of the Quadrilatero which made it easy to walk everywhere with in Bologna center. The apartment is close to many restaurants but the windows are double pane so there wasn’t any noise that bothered us. The apartment itself was clean and spacious. Also, very well stocked with all necessary items such as full kitchen items for cooking, additional toilet paper, books, and additional blankets/sheets. The AC cooled quickly. Alessandra kindly had a baby crib and high chair set up for us since we were traveling with our baby. Communication was very timely and Alessandra was very polite and speaks (writes) is perfect English. Note there are stairs only to get to the apartment.

The place is very clean and spacious and the host is friendly and helpful. Less than 15 minutes away by car to the Duomo in rush hours. It has everything that you may need in term of amenties. There is a big supermarket 5 minutes away by walking. The main street for buses is also very close by. Thank you Alessandra.

Dear Lila, Thank you for your review. I asked you to please complete the check-in online many times, but you never answered. You arrived at the door at 8:00 p.m. without having checked in, and insisted on being let in straight away. I was more than happy to help, but you could simply have done this the day before or that morning. Kind regards Alessandra

Exceptional ! If you want to be a couple of minutes walk from the absolute centre of Bologna a stone’s throw from the Quadiletora and Pizza Maggiore in luxurious comfort then look no further. This is exactly as described… a luxury modern apartment within a very old exclusive set of apartments. It has everything you can want for a very comfortable and convenient stay. If I am to be very picky then the only aspect that would make it outstanding is that it has a shared bathroom/toilet which we managed fine with two adult couples. However the second bedroom was a little smaller and exposed to a noisier side of the building because it backs onto a restaurant. So it does get noisy on weekends. Everything has trade-offs. Alessandra was a fantastic hostess and terrific with instructions and recommendations. Highly recommended.
