We had such a great time. We weren't planning to go whale watching, but we are not disappointed we went! We followed some porpoises and ended up seeing sea lions too. When we went the crew was so excited every time we saw a tail! It was infectious. Wish we would have seen more of the whales than just part of their tales, but that's not the fault of the company.
This is the first company I went on a whale watch with. For 4 years after, I continued with the same company for Whale Watch Tours. They have never disappointed during all the tours I went on. We saw so much more than whales. There was so much wildlife which was unexpected but delightful. The captain and crew were very knowledgeable and informative. I recommend Juneau Tours & Whale Watch every time I get asked about tours.
Incredible experience. Great team.
We really saw wales, glaciers, eagles, saw some sea lions and learned a lot.
The drive to the port was pretty cool too, cause both drivers told us a lot about the nature.
The sea was very calm, no waves and no seasickness.
We really recommend this tour. It’s a great family fun experience!
Special thanks to:

Went on a tour yesterday and they made a big show about always respecting times and schedules. We’re all on the bus waiting to drive off and this group comes running up, so they are outside dealing with them while we wait. The guide then comes onto the bus and gruffly demands the ‘group with the infant’ get off the bus. It turns out that a group of 4 (plus a baby) had paid for their tickets but the sales person didn’t call the sale in so the tour was oversold. They randomly decided to punish this family because it so happened their tickets hadn’t been called in, instead of the group that was late for boarding in the first place. The family was rightfully hesitant to get off the bus and then the employee tried to shame them, saying loudly that ‘we’ were all being held up because this family wouldn’t get off the bus, instead of the fact that their employee messed up and they were insisting that someone on the bus trade with someone off the bus. It was honestly gross. They also left this family’s baby carrier in the pouring rain has they immediately hauled it off the bus unbeknownst to them. It should be first come first serve when things are oversold, like the airlines do. So anyway they kicked this family - again who had paid for their tickets at the correct time - off with a baby in the pouring rain when they had done nothing wrong and let the other group on, who showed up late, and we all left more than 20 minutes late and never got compensated for that lost time.

We are sorry you got delayed. And thank you for your concern for this family. Let me assure you - no one was randomly being punished. The details behind the scenes are that they booked last minute on the dock with a broker who did not call them in - so they didn't actually have seats. Our young dock rep called me when our count was off and I spoke with them on the phone to help them, they were indeed frustrated, but we got out on the very next tour and we comped their tour.
I left VERY disappointed.
Screwed over TWICE in the same day.
I bought a whale watching and glacier tour combo on the last day of the season 2025.
The ticket vender sold me two adult tickets at the childrens rate. So I am starting out pretty pleased.
But after the whale watching we were denied entry to the glacier tour. Alaska Tours had given us a boarding pass for whale watching only. Even though I had verified with the employee at the time that it was a combo ticket. The responce from the bus driver when I told her this was "yeah they say stuff". She was completely uninterestested in helping and I was dismissed as though I was trying to get something for nothing. Screwed over by Alaska Tours once. After arriving back in town I call the number on the receipt and recieve aknowedgement of the problem and a promise to refund the difference. So at this point I am dissapointed that I am not getting my glacier tour. I was however satisfied that I would not have to pay for a tour I was not getting and the ease of the resolution. But, sadly they decided to charge me full price for the whale watching and refund the overage. Instead of refunding my money at the rate that I paid for the glacier tours. Which was more the double what they refunded. Screwed over TWICE by Alaska Tours.
Be very careful with these people.

Sorry you had such a bad experience! But I don't this review is for us? We canceled all whale watch tours the last day of the season due to bad weather.
Got to see a baby and mother hump back whale!
They oversold, and pushed us onto a later bus time that we originally paid for. Put us on a later bus, and acted as if it was no big deal, even though we only had a limited time in port. I wouldn’t trust that they can get you on the bus time that you paid for.
Just make sure you build in extra time for your plans in Juneau based on their overbooking practice.

Sorry to make you wait - we were running every 15 minutes these last few days of the season AND we were one of the only tours still open, so there was a larger than normal mad rush for our seats! This was not a typical day.
What a brilliant experience, Wayne our trolley drive was outstanding, full of fascinating facts and local knowledge.
Well worth the trip with a local family company.
