The excursion was very well organised from start to finish — the pickup was punctual, everything ran on schedule without any waiting around, and our guides clearly knew the city inside and out. Great guide, nice places 👍🏻
My friend and I did a 2-day tour to Awash with Liyu and it turned out to be really enjoyable. The first day we went to Awash National Park - very beautiful place with waterfalls and crocodiles, but we didn’t see many animals, which the guide said is normal since wildlife isn’t very dense there. We spent the night at a nice lodge, then early the next morning drove about 50 km to Alidege, which was even better. We saw more animals, including an aardwolf (which I didn’t expect at all) and lots of birds. Overall, the trip was really enjoyable. Big thanks to both our guide and driver, they were amazing. The guide was very entertaining and even played music during the drive, which made the whole experience even more fun!

Great layover tour!
Abe is the best tour guide in Addis Ababa. I booked the tour as a solo female traveler and I felt safe every step of the way! Awash Trip
We did a two day tour from Addis to Awash and back. Already the organisational communication through WA was very friendly, flexible and well organised. Great food tour in Addis
We had a great food tour with Oli and would definitely recommend him if you want a real introduction to Ethiopian food and culture. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made everything feel easy and relaxed, even when we were trying things for the first time. We started with a traditional coffee ceremony and then tried a mix of local dishes, including beyaynetu, shekla tibs, and tire siga. Oli took us to places we never would have found on our own and explained what everything was and how to eat it. The experience felt authentic, not touristy, and we left very full and happy. Highly recommend this tour if you’re visiting Addis.

Amazing tour, Amazing staff, Amazing weather
The trip was amazing, and the team was very helpful and attentive to even the tiniest details especially Kudos, the tour guide. The ride was long and tiring, but Oli, another tour guide made it worthwhile with his historical and local knowledge base. The weather was nice not too cold neither too hot and I hear its like that all-year round. This is a must-visit for any couple bored of the city hazzle.

amazing food, kind hosts
Mahlet our guide, her grandma, and her cousin were all so welcoming. They picked us up punctually at the hotel and dropped us back. Mahlet taught us how to make shiro, yellow split peas, and my favourite - gomen. Grandma taught us how to make injera - but of course it was much harder than it looks ! We washed, roasted, and ground coffee. This coffee was paired with an aromatic herb called rue (Ruta graveolens) - which added a sweet and mellow dimension. I've never had coffee so fresh ! We also ate some incredible papaya, plums, and oranges. Thank you again for sharing your culture with us !

Fun and educational experience especially for families
It was such a fun, engaging and insightful experience learning about Ethiopian cuisine from Mahlet. She showed us, not just the culinary traditions of Ethiopia, but also shared so much insight into their culture. She was beaming with pride as she talked about everything from the nation's love for coffee to the various tribes around the country. My daughter had a great time making injera and so did I! We both really liked this experience and the best part of eating the fruits of our labor at the end of it. Highly recommend it to anyone interested in delving a little deeper into the Ethiopian culture.

Chebara Churchura WoW WoW WoW
Liyu Ethiopia Tours helped us organize our safari to Chebara Churchura National Park. Yhun was extremely helpful, very courteous, and communicated quickly and efficiently. Our guide/driver accompanied us for five days. He was very polite and helpful. We felt very comfortable and safe in his company. The road is very winding and mountainous, and as our guide so aptly put it, we had African massages on the road 🤣 We developed a wonderful family bond during this trip. In the park, the facilities are like a luxury vacation camp... no electricity except between 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., no hot water in the showers (very refreshing), but super comfortable and clean. The food was also excellent! As for the animals, we were spoiled! Elephants, hippos, water buffalo, antelopes, etc. on every outing! I recommend Liyu Tours without hesitation.
