Following a challenging 18-month planning process we found ourselves with permission for four 28”X 11” Shepherd Huts and nobody to build them as our original supplier had ceased trading.
After speaking to suppliers from all over the UK we identified Lincolnshire Shepherd Huts as our only potential supplier without revisiting the planning process for an amendment to the hut size.
We went to meet Karly and Jamie on site at Woodhall Spa where they were siting another bespoke build. In this instance 2 smaller huts fitted together in an L shape to achieve a similar overall area to what we were looking for.
To say we were impressed was an understatement. We even question if we should consider an amendment to planning and go for like for like L shaped units. A quick reality check ruled that out as the planning amendment would have delayed us further. A window in their production schedule also meant by sticking to our original plan we could achieve our preferred delivery of early 2025, allowing us to welcome guests for Easter. This left us trusting in them to build to somebody else’s design with nothing more than pictures of a completed unit with a different layout to that we were looking for, the overall size, location and sizes of the window and doors. Not a blueprint in site!
Have there been issues along the way, understandably with an un blueprinted bespoke build, yes. Most notably and out of their control, on delivery, due to an issue with the crane operator our groundworks contractor appointed to site the huts miss-calculating the lifting range. This saw their team going above and beyond, stripping out the interior of one hut just before dusk to achieve lifting weight for the required range of over 50m. This enabling us to site the final hut without the added expense of a second larger crane returning the following day. As in this instance, the other minor issues that have understandably been encountered along the way have been dealt with professionally and in a timely manner.
We are over the moon with the completed huts and guest feedback on them has been nothing but positive.
I would have no hesitation recommending Karly and Jamie's business to anybody looking for a bespoke or off-plan Shepherd Hut Build, and hope to be using them again in the future to continue to grow our accommodation offer.

The quality of build is superb with high quality materials and fittings and so much of it hand made by Jamie and his team, who genuinely deserve the Master Craftsmen accolade. The hut itself is everything we could ask for and more! It’s amazing craftsmanship and appealing decor is making it a massive hit as a glamping hut.

We are delighted with our Shepherd Hut. Jamie is very passionate about his creations and that shows in the workmanship.
We have a small glamping paddock at Woodhall Spa and Lincolnshire Shepherd Huts came up with a few suggestions on layouts and Jamie helped us choose a perfect one that suits both couples and families with a den for children or additional space for storage. There are lots of well thought out ideas in our hut, all fitted with brilliant quality.
