Thrilled with our experience using LBTR. Excellent personalized service. Incredibly knowledgeable about all things Italy, including specific restaurants in most cities. Felt like we got a great value. Loved the guides and experiences they booked for us, especially our boat tour of Amalfi and our Agritourismo day learning about lemon farming, olive oil making, cheese making, and Lemoncello. They download everything about your trip into an App, including tour tickets, flight itineraries, etc. Made it very convenient to have all of our information at our fingertips all the time. Finally, Francesca, their local rep in Italy, was always available to help us in any way we needed. Cannot recommend LBTR strongly enough!

From the moment we began planning until the day we returned home, every detail of our 12 day trip to Italy was handled with extraordinary care. Very highly recommend. We planned a trip with Greece and from the start they worked with us to make the trip we wanted rather than fit us into a premade trip. Every experience they helped us plan the family just loved. And they went way over and beyond during our trip to communicate and support. We were assigned our own travel manager who was available to us at any time via a quick text or email. Tours and guides, dining recommendations, and special touches along the way all came together to create a journey that felt effortless and unforgettable. Our accommodations were stunning — from a charming bed and breakfast in the old city of Civita di Bagnoregio to the extraordinary sensory experience of Casa Maria Luigia and an unforgettable 11-course dinner with Massimo Bottura. These are memories we will never forget. The LBR team also curated special excursions that matched our every request, elevating the trip with experiences we never could have arranged on our own. One highlight was a private perfume workshop in the heart of Florence, where we explored scent profiles of precious oils and centuries old blending techniques before creating my own signature fragrance — an experience that felt both intimate and unforgettable. They also arranged a private session with a coffee and espresso expert, who walked us through beans from around the world and taught us how to craft that all-important first cup of the day with intention and skill. It was fascinating, fun, and gave us a whole new appreciation for something we enjoy every morning. And these are just two of many exceptional experiences — each one crafted uniquely for us. Truly, our imagination was the only limit. LBR planned a 20 day trip for up to Naples and Sicily. Their attention to each detail was amazing and we had not one hiccup throughout the 20 days. They chose beautiful hotels, recommended local restaurants, arranged tours with wonderful guides, provided a local trip manager, arranged private and professional transportation, to and from each location, and gave us a 20 day detailed itinerary. My family (husband, 9 year old son, and I) just returned from our fabulous trip to Italy. Karen and her team made our trip absolutely seamless. This was our first trip to Italy, and it was beyond memorable. We started in Rome, then Tuscany, Florence, and ended in Venice. Life Beyond the Room had every last detail in place, making the trip perfectly planned. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were well taken care of. Karen “met” with us via video chat several times prior to our departure. During our initial meeting we specified what we wanted to do and what we wanted to see. Our group of six just returned from an 11-day vacation in Portugal planned by Athena with Life Beyond the Room and would highly recommend them. This is the 2nd vacation they’ve planned for us (after our family of 4 had another amazing time in Italy 2 years ago thanks to Karen who planned that trip). We partly picked Portugal after learning it was one of the locations where LBR plans trips. We got to experience three different regions - Porto (which included a day tour of the Duoro wine valley), Lisbon, and we ended at a beautiful spot in the Algarve region. All were unique areas where we were able to stay in great accommodations in prime locations, connect with excellent local tour guides who allowed us to experience some of the more hidden gems that are off the beaten path in addition to some of the more popular sites, and taste many of the wonderful food and drinks each region had to offer. We felt like we received VIP treatment with seamless transitions and helpful contacts, and feel like you can’t go wrong with any trip LBR plans!

I took a trip to South France with LBR and it was an amazing experience. We stayed at a sheep hamlet in the mountains and it was the perfect mix of rest/relaxation and activities. Karen and her team planned an incredible trip for my girlfriend and I. It was my first time to Europe and her first time out of the country. Between the e-bike tour of the Appian way, the horseback ride, the wine tasting at the vineyard and so much more, it was an incredible experience that we’ll never forget. I can't say enough about our incredible experience working with Karen, Francesca and the Life Beyond the Room team. They planned a custom off the beaten path trip through Southern Italy and Tuscany for us that we will never forget.
