My experience with L’Atelier French has been very positive. The environment is welcoming and supportive, which made learning feel less intimidating and easier to stay committed to. The lessons focus a lot on real-life French, not just grammar, and that made a big difference for me. My lecturer, Mai, is a huge part of this experience. She is patient, attentive, and genuinely cares about her students’ progress. She explains things clearly, corrects mistakes kindly, and encourages us to keep trying. After almost three months learning with her, I feel more confident writing in French, and I’m gradually becoming more comfortable expressing myself. I would definitely recommend L’Atelier French to anyone looking for a serious but friendly place to learn French, especially with teachers like Mai.

Fantastic Tutor Merci beaucoup! Maiwen is an excellent French teacher. Her classes are clear, well-paced, and easy to follow, and she has a way of explaining concepts that makes them feel natural. Petit à petit, j’ai gagné plus de confiance en parlant et en comprenant le français. She creates a comfortable learning space and is genuinely invested in her students’ progress. Je recommande vraiment ses leçons, elles ont fait une grande différence pour moi.

I took classes from Level 1 to Level 6, and it was truly a wonderful experience. My teacher throughout the entire program was Maï, who is incredibly friendly, kind, and dedicated. Spending six months learning with her was amazing as she is genuinely interested in each student, always caring, patient, and encouraging. I started from zero, and now I’m able to communicate my ideas in French, which is a huge milestone for me. Our group was always fun and cheerful, and the classes were engaging, dynamic, and well structured. I’m planning to come back next year to continue studying with Maï in preparation for the TEF exam, and I’m very enthusiastic about it. If I could suggest one improvement, it would be to extend the lessons to two hours instead of 90 minutes, as they often felt too short given the amount of material, questions, and interactive activities covered. Highly recommended! 🙌🏻❤️

I've been enrolled in the academy for 6 months now, and my experience so far has been quite positive. My teacher, Maï is very passionate about her work and does a great job at delivering engaging and focused lessons. I will be continuing for another 6 months in the TEF Exam preparatory course, and look forward to continuing to learn and improve with them!

I’m having a great experience here. I took the six months program and now I’m taking the TEF preparation for 3 months with Mai. She’s the best instructor I’ve had here. great instructor. I feel supported and guided with real life role plays to help me improve my speaking skills for TEF.

I’ve only had amazing experiences here! I have taken classes with both Maï and Delphine and they are both fantastic! The TEF preparation courses are very well organized and Maï really knows how to help us individually and as a group to improve any areas that need practice. She encourages us to speak French everyday and will correct any mistakes with patience and care. Delphi has also been amazing for my TEF preparation and overall French learning experience since she curates every class for my needs while keeping it super interesting!

I have been taking Learn French in Vancouver's Level 1 - Level 6 group classes with Mai as the French Instructor, and I can confidently say that it has been such a great experience learning French here! The location of the school is quite convenient, since it is located near Waterfront station and some bus stops. The inside of the building is nice as well, although I wish there are more rooms with bigger sizes to accommodate bigger class sizes. My instructor Mai is very enthusiastic and very helpful! She is patient and empathetic towards her students and I really appreciate that! :) The only other critique I have is the price of the course. I do wish it could be a tad bit cheaper for the amount of classes per week and class duration (which is twice a week, and 90 minutes per class). But with the quality of learning here, I think it makes up for it if you can afford it. All in all, I recommend learning French here, either if you are planning to learn French for TEF, or for general foundations of the French language!

I’m taking the TEF preparation course here, and it’s been a really good experience. I took the TEF before, but I didn’t feel fully prepared at that time. Maï, my instructor, has really helped me understand the test and focus on the areas I need to improve, especially my expression orale et écrite. I feel more confident now, and I’ll take the TEF again in a couple of months. This time I feel much more ready thanks to her and the school. 100% recommended!

For me Maï is both a cool and excellent French instructor who uses an effective pedagogy, the student-centered approach mixed with personalized teaching. In contrast with my previous French classes with another French institution, she gives more focus beyond our usual lectures, more on what we need to improve on the most. If she knows you need to improve your speaking, she does not hesitate to call you during recitations to read or speak out. You can't hide! haha! Even if the class time is shorter in Learn French in Vancouver compared to my previous French school, Maï is able to efficiently dedicate time to practical speaking and listening exercises, not just theory. So far I'm liking this skills-based method and with Maï's targeted practices using actual TEF questions. I believe this kind of technique ensures us to be well-prepared not only for TEF exam, but also for real-world interaction. Thank you Learn French in Vancouver especially to Maï!
