Transformative
In the summer heat and humidity we trained hard, and learnt to be resilient and powerful! This was the most fun I have ever had. The accommodations, training and food were all fantastic but the people I trained with were the most inspiring!
After finding the 30-Day Kung Fu Retreat offer online, I decided to take this journey for myself. Here is my feedback on my stay, the training, and the people in this region of China:
Accommodation:
I requested a single room and I was not disappointed. I got a cozy room with access to a balcony, including air conditioning, a nightstand, and open closets to store my clothes. I could settle in comfortably. My room also served as a retreat in case of bad days. Next door, there is a shared bathroom with a shower and hot water.
People / Food:
Everyone I met here welcomed and treated me with generosity and hospitality. The people here are considerate, compassionate, and friendly. I even felt like part of the family. There were three freshly prepared hot meals per day. Most of the meals consisted of vegetables and meat, with rice or noodles as a side. Every meal was simply delicious and healthy. No expense was spared to make me feel comfortable here.
Training:
I benefited from 5-6 hours of training per day, which included endurance training, strength training, conditioning, stretching, and various forms of Kung Fu. Every morning, I started the day with Tai Chi or Qi Gong (meditative training), which I personally enjoyed as it helped clear my mind. The training was tough, but it was worth it. After 30 days, my body has never felt better. I felt stronger, tougher, and more flexible.
Leisure Activities:
On weekends without training, we could explore the beautiful area and landscape. We visited a temple, a replica of the Great Wall of China (in my opinion, better than the real one, with no tourists except for me), admired the wonderful view of the surrounding mountains, and experienced life in the cities and markets here.
Conclusion:
For me personally, this trip/retreat was one of the best decisions of my life. I could unwind, focus on my body and mind, and learn a lot about myself, my body, the culture, and the lifestyle of the people here. I can highly recommend the Taizu Kung Fu School. Many thanks to Shi Yan Hao, who made this experience and life lesson possible. Thanks also to everyone involved on-site. It was a wonderful and educational time.

Very good martial arts trainer, Master Xu, and an enjoyable scenery to train different forms such as Tai Chi and Kung Fu. Good food.
