‘Screened topsoil should be relatively free of large stones and debris. The screening process removes stones, lumps, and other sizable contaminants, leaving a finer, more workable soil. While some very small stones might be present, they are generally undesirable especially for finer applications like topdressing lawns.’ That’s what I wanted and what I thought I ordered from Landscape Supplies.
The soil they delivered was full of stones and completely unsuitable for the garden work I had planned. I reached out multiple times, Lenka tried to fob me off with saying ‘it is beneficial to have some stones for drainage. Half of the delivery composed of large stones, broken glass, plastic and pieces of ceramic.
Lenka also advised me that they would be able to deposit the topsoil on delivery at the top of my drive – that was not the case which resulted in my daughter and I having to wheelbarrow the soil up my driveway. I ended up having to sieve the soil for hours to remove the large stones. When I queried this with Lenka she said ‘our soil goes through 10mm screener – are you using anything finer?
I advised her I was not using a finer screener and that I was not happy with this and requested they at least should collect the stones I had riddled out of the soil but my messages were ignored. I messaged again – no response which resulted in me having to spend the day taking all the stones to the dump. Lack of customer service from Landscape Supplies
