I began working with David Katz on my pool project this spring. From our first meeting, I was excited about my new pool. David is very creative, but he also listened to what I wanted. His concept took into consideration my house and my yard. I wanted something natural - like it had always been there. The end product was a pool and landscaping that exceeded my expectations.
There were some challenges along the way. David was very engaged - responding to texts and emails promptly. He assured me that my project would get done and I would be satisfied. That couldn't be more true. I have been so pleased with my experience that I will do another project with Land of Elite in the spring!
I would like to recognize Julio and his co-worker who worked on the patio. They are craftsmen. Also, to Peter, who pushed the project over the finish line. Bravo!

David came out to do a consultation on our property and he truly is a visionary (which is obvious in his work)! He immediately pointed out where things should go and gave us pointers on the flow of our property. He was so much fun to talk to and very knowledgeable. My family met with David for a consultation on a potential backyard makeover project (gunite pool, spa, outdoor kitchen, firepit). While we have been talking to several companies about our project, David and Land of Elite immediately stood out from the rest. David took the time to understand exactly what we want and how we want to use our yard. After getting a thorough understanding of our project / desires, David immediately began discussing the potential of our property.
We have a slope in our yard that other firms have found challenging, but David approached the potential issue as an opportunity to create a unique space consisting of multiple levels. By the time we finished our consultation, David had actually drawn up a potential vision of what we could do with our property.
David's ideas were unique, exciting, different from any others we have received and most importantly more than we could have envisioned being capable with our yard. Not only did David have ideas about the specific project, but he had a vision of other things that could be done with our yard to create a true 'dream backyard'.
We were very excited about the ideas David was able to come up with in a 2 hour consultation. We look forward to potentially working with David going forward and seeing what other ideas he could have in the design phase of our project.
We recently moved into our home and we wanted to eliminate steps to the front porch as well as redo the driveway. Having no idea how to do away with steps and still have front entrance accesible we reached out to Land of Elite. David Katz came to our home and came up with a plan that I never would have come up with on my own. He envisioned a circular driveway that would come up to a new walkway to the front steps and also repalce the current steps. The driveway would then lead down to the garage where there would be a large apron. In the middle of the circle he envisoned a grass area with a flagpole in the middle. We had wanted additional lighting and David proposed some walkway lights and a large light post at the entrance to the driveway. My wife and I were blown away by the design idea and even more so by the finished product. The many workers who were here at various times were all personable and professional. David came by several times to see where the progress was. I highly recommend The Land of Elite, both for it's conceptual ideas and quality of work performed. Oh yes, we previously had nine steps leading to front door, we now have two.

I first met David Katz, the owner of Elite Landscaping more than 25 years ago having seen work he did for a friend of mine. I had just purchased a new home in Purchase, NY and wanted the entire front of my property re-done in a very contemporary fashion. With minimal guidance from me David developed a landscape plan that was beyond anything I had hoped for in design and yet responsibly priced.
Several years later I sold that home and bought into a townhouse with a 700 sq. ft. private garden that looked like a graveyard featuring large trees surrounded by ivy. A brief conversation with David about my expectations resulted in a plan that was once again beyond anything I had hoped for; a waterfall, a stone bridge, bamboo, grasses--a secret wooded paradise in the heart of Murray Hill.

After several estimates and designs for our dream outdoor kitchen/fire pit, David from Land of Elite was the only one with a true vision of what we were looking for. David spent the time with us in person and behind the scenes to come up with an absolutely stunning design. Even when a there was a bump in the road (happens with every project) David was able to come up with a solution and made it look even better. As for the crew. What an unbelievable job they did. Everyday they were on time and braved the cold weather to complete our oasis. In the end we could not be happier with the way our backyard has turned out. We are so grateful to David and his crew and extremely happy we chose Land of Elite. We are looking forward to the next process of our backyard transformation in the springtime when planting gets done!!
ELITE took on a partial renovation project of a second home in Ulster County, far from my regular home. Before contracting ELITE, I had been renovating an old victorian cottage piecemeal with laborers who I could not monitor, and the work never went as planned and ended up costing more than expected to make it right. When it came time to install all new windows, I hired ELITE (who I'd become familiar with through a landscape design project). They were professional, quick and excellent communicators. The work was done to a high standard and I felt comfortable with David, Mitch, Wes and their team handling the work in my second home without me being around. The quote was not the lowest I received, but I suspect that it was the most honest and, given my experiences prior to contracting ELITE and considering the quality of work that ELITE delivered, I'm comfortable that it was the best value I could've gotten. As a construction manager in Brooklyn, I've learned to recognize when I'm out of my depth and to call in better professionals. If I can't be there myself, I want people of ELITE's caliber on site.
Elite Landscaping did an exceptional job in turning our mediocre yard into a magnificent resort. They are patient, creative, talented, considerate, and professional. Every challenge was embraced with a creative solution. They are exceptional and we had many demands as our expectations were very high. They were also able to navigate the many requirements of Scarsdale with a grace and professionalism. This was impressive as this was the first time they worked in Scarsdale. They delivered! We are so proud of what Elite has created.
From the first phone call with David, we knew this was the place was "the one". David came over and did a complete assessment of our yard and helped us see our yards potential. Being first time home-owners, we had many questions and concerns and dreams! The team was always quick to reply to our emails and helped us to solidify what our first step should be. We received a formal proposal which outlined all of our costs and the projected start times. The project was able to be started way before I thought it would be! Once the project began, David met his crew at our house everyday. They took pictures of each step and had constant communication. We were even given a link to the pictures so that we could see what had been done while we were at work. The crew was prompt, everyday. At the end of each day, all of the materials were packed up and put away. The yard always looked neat, despite the ongoing construction. This team goes above and beyond. I watched one of their workers pick up a single rock and move it to a better placement. They were accommodating to our schedule and other work we were having done. Once our patio was built, the service didnt stop there. They completely restored our yard. The put top soil and seed in the areas that were even slightly dug up. They cleaned and dried the patio, placed the furniture in an appealing arrangement. David and Wes came back for the final inspection. They gave me some great tips to move forward on my own in the yard and we talked about future projects to enhance our space. I can say that I have been spoiled by this crew. I plan to use this company for all future projects! They really have exceeded my expectations!
