Lancaster Cottage was a lovely place to stay, cosy with much attention to detail and with the bonus of a quiet and private garden space. Lots of options for walks from the cottage, with Clough Woods in particular very special in April with a mass of bluebells. Katie was very proactive with lots of helpful recommendations - would definitely stay again.

An idyllic cottage in a lovely historic village which offers peace and tranquility. Slept like a baby in pitch darkness and a very comfortable bed. Easy access to Bakewell & Matlock and some nice pubs & dining within walking distance. Katie communicated brilliantly throughout and the cottage manual was full of information from walks, to pubs/food and local history and sites of interest. It was home from home, very chilled and relaxing. Highly recommended.

First time I’ve used Airbnb and am I glad to stay we were fortunate enough to stay at Katie’s cottage! It was exactly as described, 100% accurate in terms of the pictures and the host (Katie) herself was a genuine, amazing soul! Not many things are perfect, however this was as close to perfect if it’s what you’re looking for! Loved it!

Perfect spot from which to enjoy Winster and its surroundings. The cottage is cosy and well equipped, and the garden is private and peaceful. We really enjoyed our countryside walks, having a pint in one of the local pubs, and then relaxing in the garden or on the comfy sofa. It was a really lovely long weekend! We will definitely visit again. Thanks Katie!

Wow, what an absolute GEM!We had a wonderful few days at Lancaster Cottage, we truly felt at home and it was so cozy. We had everything we needed, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful. Katie was a brilliant host, her instructions and recommendations were extremely detailed and helpful. She recommended we go to see the bluebells in Clough woods which was a highlight! The outside space and secret garden is magical, I even saw a shooting star. Winster and the local area is lovely, lots of beautiful walks straight from the cottage and a short drive from other Peak District highlights. As a newish driver I was nervous about parking and driving around the villages but we followed Katie’s instructions and it worked out perfectly. We will be back!

What a find! Possibly the best UK Airbnb we’ve stayed in! Everything has been thought of in this peaceful, beautiful bijou cottage. Katie is really friendly and helpful and has designed the most gorgeous place to stay along with its pretty garden and countryside views. We had such a good stay at the cottage. The house is absolutely gorgeous, comfortable and clean. Katie was an excellent host with clear instructions and super helpful. The village itself is lovely, nice and quiet. Everyone we met was so friendly. There is a handy local shop and a couple of great pubs. We did a fab 9 mile walk from Winster - Bichover - Elton - Winster. Great views, very dog friendly (with only the occasional field of sheep) and not too challenging a route. We genuinely had zero complaints and would love to come back again! Can really recommend if you are looking for a dog friendly relaxing getaway.

Beautiful cottage, decorated tastefully and inkeeping with the area. The dog was very at home and enjoyed the walks. We had all we needed to feel at home. Very quiet and peaceful, the local shop was very handy and had all that we required. The host was lovely and on hand if we had any questions or concerns, highly recommended.
