We had an amazing experience with Kubwa Five Safari for our 14-day Safari in Kenya and Uganda, and could not recommend them highly enough. From start to finish, we felt well supported and genuinely cared for. The entire trip was great fun and very well organised, which allowed us to relax and fully enjoy the experience. The guides, Eric (Kenya) and Mustafah (Uganda) and were extremely knowledgeable, professional and always willing to help. They went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible experience, sharing their expertise and doing their absolute best to help us see as much wildlife as possible. Their passion and understanding of the environment really enhanced the trip. Overall, this safari was unforgettable. The company’s attention to detail, friendly approach and commitment to giving guests the best experience made it truly special. We would happily travel with them again and would recommend them to anyone looking for a memorable and well-run safari experience.

We truly enjoyed our private safari in Kenya and Uganda with Kubwa Five Safari. From start to finish, the experience exceeded our expectations. Our drivers and guides, Erik in Kenya and Mustafa in Uganda, went above and beyond to show us as many animals as possible. Both were proactive, knowledgeable, and incredibly warm, which made us feel safe, comfortable, and welcome at all times. The trip itself did not disappoint. Communication with the company via WhatsApp was excellent—quick, clear, and reassuring—so we always felt well taken care of throughout the journey. The itinerary was perfectly balanced, combining incredible wildlife, stunning landscapes, and meaningful interactions with local communities. The absolute highlights were trekking with the chimpanzees and gorillas—an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

What a spectacular adventure! So many animals, breathtaking scenery, the best guide ever, gained a great friend! EPIC!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Wild, Unforgettable Safari Adventure With Kubwa 5 & Super Guide MustafahMy safari with Kubwa 5 Safaris felt like stepping into a real-life wildlife documentary. Every moment was filled with adventure—lions emerging from the grass, elephants moving like giants across the plains, giraffes glowing in the sunrise, hippos breaking the river surface. It was dramatic, thrilling, and unforgettable. The Kubwa 5 team made the entire experience seamless with excellent communication and impressive flexibility from start to finish. But the true force behind this adventure was my super guide, Mustafah. His instincts were incredible—he always knew where to go for the best sightings. Calm, confident, and deeply knowledgeable, he turned every drive into a cinematic scene while keeping everything relaxed and safe. He transformed the journey into a true adventure.Murchison Falls thundered with power, Pakuba Lodge felt like the heart of the wild, and Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary delivered an intense, unforgettable rhino-tracking experience with a ranger Mustafah personally trusted. If you’re planning on safari, request Mustafah and Kubwa 5. This is adventure at its absolute best.

Merci !

Absolutely exceptional stay We are delighted to have chosen Uganda as our destination but also the travel agency Kubwa Five. First of all Uganda is an exceptional country, totally undervalued, full of fabulous treasures. Kubwa Five allowed us to follow an extremely clear and precise route. Very well thought out. Communication with the agency is fluid and we recommend their services 100%.Finally, our Mustapha guide is the other major element of the success of this stay. He is a true expert on Uganda, nature, animals, who did his utmost for 10 days to make sure we had an unforgettable stay and always in a good mood. Without him, the journey would not have been the same. We can only advise anyone who is still hesitant to go to Uganda with the help of Kubwa Five. Thank you!

We had an incredible experience with Kubwa Five Safaris from start to finish. Our multi-country itinerary through Kenya and Uganda was complex, yet everything ran smoothly thanks to their excellent planning, attention to detail, and responsive communication throughout the trip. The accommodations were eco-friendly but comfortable, the food consistently delicious, and our guides knowledgeable and personable. We especially appreciated how easily we could reach the Kubwa Five team on WhatsApp and their quick responses made the entire experience feel safe and well-supported. There were a few small bumps along the way, as can happen on a long safari, but nothing that took away from the overall experience. The only real suggestion we’d make to future travelers would be to skip the Maasai “cultural event” stop, which felt more like a tourist cash grab than an authentic experience. In contrast, the Ugandan cultural visits, were absolutely wonderful, heartfelt, and meaningful. Overall, Kubwa Five Safaris offered fantastic value, excellent organization, and warm personal service. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone planning a safari in East Africa.

it was good, but with some flaws The tour arranged well in general. All the safari lodges were excellent. the transportation is smooth without any problems. however the last day was very poorly planned. Not only did it make us waste the best game drive time, but the guide was also extremely unprofessional, with no knowledge about animals. He couldn’t even tell the difference between a flamingo and a pelican, and lacked the ability to spot things that other guides could see.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent safari experience. We are pleased to hear that the tour was well-arranged in general and that you enjoyed the safari lodges and transportation. However, we are deeply sorry to hear that the last day of your tour was poorly planned and that our guide failed to meet your expectations. We understand how frustrating it must have been to miss out on prime game drive time and to have a guide who lacked knowledge about the animals.Actions that we are taking:- We are conducting an investigation into the matter to understand what went wrong and how we can prevent similar incidents in the future.- We will be providing additional training to our guides to enhance their knowledge and professionalism.- We will be reviewing our tour planning processes to ensure that our clients get the most out of their safari experience.Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve our services. Please let us know if you'd like to talk more about your experience.Thank you again for your feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back on another safari in the future.

Would recommend for UGANDA only IN SUMMARY - -WE WOULD RECOMMEND KUBWA 5 for a UGANDA Safari - shop in the other countries for local guidesUGANDAAmos our guide was a treasure- he is so knowledgeable and good at his job. We always felt safe with Amos and his enthusiasm for birds and animals is contagious. We would highly recommend anyone to use him as their guide.Vehicle - was comfortable - there was one mechanical issue which Amos was able to remedy quickly without it compromising our tripAccommodation - all was ok except for Pakaba lodge - which was very dated, buffet was out of options for dinner on our first night, very crowded and was very run down. Bathroom window didn't lock and we didn't feel secure there. I would rate this as a mid range accommodation.Agandi lodge - is also classed more as a mid range (if that)- its very rustic and they were renovating while we were there so power was going on and off, etc- we realise the location is good for gorilla trekking but I think its probably not a luxury lodge at any time. The schedule for this section of the trip was good - the only change I would suggest is ditching the Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru cave from the itinerary. The waterfall is nice enough but the caves are a non event and not worth the slippery, muddy, dangerous walk. I would replace this with either an optional guided walk through the Fort Portal market or a nice lake walk or canoe from Kyaninga lodge. We loved all the other accommodations and the national parks in Uganda are the best in Africa in our opinion. As we told Shantel at the end of our first section the trip was a 10/10 for us for far.KENYAAs you know we had issues on arrival in Kenya. Our guide lacked the basic animal/bird knowledge we have come to expect from every single guide we have had in the proceeding 5 weeks. We confused a fish eagle with a heron and wasn't able to elaborate on why the Masai giraffe looked different to us.He had the makings of a last minute contractor to us that had no knowledge of what we were actually doing, where, when or what was included. The vehicle was disastrous - with seatbelts that didn't even match the clip in any way, along with windows that needed a screw driver to open or where obscured. Overall this vehicle was very uncomfortable. Stephen also suggested we pay an additional $60 USD for a nature walk which luckily we declined- I would have been very annoyed if we had done this considering all the animals we would see we were able to walk with for free at our Sopa resort in Lake Navaisha. We discussed these issues with Shantel which swapped our guide and vehible which we appreciated- it did however make me feel extremely uncomfortable and caused tension between us.Our next driver was a vast improvement - he was very funny and jolly and had more knowldge and we were able to have better game and bird viewing opportunities with him. He became away quickly that the vehicle was not working in 4WD mode and this was not remedied during our time in Kenya despite his best efforts.Due to this vehicle failure we got bogged 4 x in the Masai Mara taking hours away from game spotting time, it also meant there were areas of the park we were not able to access due to the high risk of getting bogged again. For example we saw some wildebeest crossing the sand river however when we heard a high number were approaching Tony said it was too risky to return there as we would get bogged again. All the accommodation in Kenya was very nice- especially the Sopa Lake Navaisha where we did truly encounter a luxury experience. The main disapointment was Lake Elementaita - the accommodation was very nice but it was a long drive from the national park and we were told the main selling point of a luxury tour is being within the national park - here the Sopa would have been a much better option. The Lake Elementaita resort was also up a very long and terrible bumpy dirt road and the worlds steepest hill - which was challenging in a vehicle without effective 4WD.We also felt that the Muthu Keekorok Lodge was very dated and our room had a bad smell. Deifinitely more mid range accommodation. We loved the fact that Kenya had relatively short driving distances between each stop- here again the seat belts in the vehicle didn't all work again - this is a huge safety concern especially considering the way they drive in Kenya.TANZANIAOur guide was ok - we did again have the sense he was a last minute contractor again with again not much background on what we were doing, what was already included etc. The vehicle was comfortable however the tyres on the vehicle would not be considered road worthy in Australia- the tread was very worn down and consequently we had 4 x flat tyres. This was inconvenient as it took time away from our game drives and every time a driver had to get out of the vehicle to get us unbogged or change a tyre they were in danger from lions, leopards, hippos etc and we felt concerned that something would happen to them. The accommodation in Tanzania was all very nice.LUXURY INCLUSIONSAs mentioned the night at Sopa Lake Navaisha was the only time the trip felt truly luxurious with the resort organising a special dinner for us. Luxury inclusions other friends of our have experienced and things we have seen on the road would be things as follows:- thermos with tea/coffee for morning tea- champagne at sunset at special spots- tableclothes at lunch stops, cutlery, glassware etcOverall we loved what we saw in all three countries again with Uganda being the highlight for us.I think improvements you could implement would be:- all accommodation being of the same class- all luxury accommodation being within national parks- vehicles with working seat belts, well serviced with tyres that are good quality for bad and bumpy roads- consider offering the same guide across the whole tour for multi-country tour to improve continuity. We spent 7 weeks in Africa- we did a three week mid range tour as well as a few shorter ones we arranged with other providers prior to our tour with you. We went to Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola, Botswana, Namibia as well as the three countries in the Kuwba tour so we felt like we had a basic expectation around the kind of lodging that would be considered luxurious as well as the condition of the vehicle and expertise of each guide. We understand that road conditions are hard on vehicles in Africa however the vehicles we saw broken down or needed tyre changes were all old and tired and there were plenty of newer vehicles in better condition with other safari companies who were not experiencing these issues. With the vehicles it seemed they were not checked and serviced before our tour- for example, seat belts working, the KENYA vehicle had a major component of the 4WD missing completely which would have been noted if the vehicle had been properly checked. We saw numerous other luxury tour operators with much more modern and current vehicles which were obviously both mechanically sound and roadworthy. My husband does feel disappointed in the tour overall as it was delivered as a luxury tour and for $24 USD we didn't feel it delivered the value or experience we expected from this once in a lifetime trip for us.We also felt all guides need to present to same Kubwa five image across all countries- eg uniforms etc - adds to the professionalism of any tourist operation.

Dear Christina,Thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed and constructive feedback about your recent safari experience with us. We appreciate your honesty and will definitely take your comments into consideration to improve our services. We've shared your feedback with our team, including the glowing review of your guide, Amos, in Uganda. We'll also look into addressing the issues you experienced with accommodations, vehicles, and guides in Kenya and Tanzania. Some key takeaways from your feedback include:- Ensuring consistency in accommodation quality and guide expertise across all countries- Providing vehicles that suitable for the terrain- Considering the addition of luxury inclusions, such as morning tea, champagne, and tablecloths, to enhance the overall experience- Exploring the possibility of having the same guide throughout the tour for multi-country safarisWe understand that our tour may not have met your expectations for a luxury experience, and for that, we apologize. We'll work on implementing changes to improve the quality of our services and provide a more consistent and memorable experience for our clients.Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to serve you better in the future.

Guided with Heart: More Than a Safari—A Journey of a Lifetime From the very first step in Uganda to the last wave goodbye in Tanzania, Kubwa Five Safaris turned our journey into something far beyond a holiday—it was a life experience.Everything was seamlessly arranged, yet never rigid. Mustafa was an outstanding guide in Uganda. From the moment we landed, we felt both cared for and free to explore. His attention to detail was incredible—every transfer smooth, every lodge perfectly chosen. Mustafa’s deep knowledge and genuine passion for his country inspired me to write, to listen, and to document every story he shared. Even on the long, bumpy roads, his stories and insights kept us entertained and learning. Seeing chimpanzees and gorillas was unforgettable, as were the lions climbing trees and the leopard guarding ancient ruins. Our time in Kenya was just as remarkable. Of course, with any trip there can be small glitches, but the experience was unforgettable. The lakes—Naivasha and Nakuru—were brimming with life and abundance. To witness entire ecosystems unfolding before us was unbelievable: birds in their thousands, hippos wallowing, and the rhythms of wildlife playing out before our eyes. The Kazinga Channel in Uganda was another highlight, full of activity and energy that brought the landscape alive. This journey truly changed my understanding of animals—their lives, their interactions, and their delicate survival.Tanzania carried the same magic with another wonderful guide. Our time in the Serengeti was unforgettable. We woke to the sounds of the wild, watched a lion family lounging right in front of our cottage, and followed the great migration across the endless plains. Each day felt like a new chapter in a story we never wanted to end. Kubwa Five managed to combine comfort, safety, and adventure in a way that felt effortless. What stood out most, though, was the heart they put into everything. It never felt like a business transaction—it felt like being welcomed into a family that truly wanted us to have the trip of our lives. I especially loved the spirit of friendship and playful competition between the guides. Each wanted to show us the best, but always with kindness and camaraderie. For anyone planning a safari, it helps to come with an open heart and the right mindset. Africa has its own rhythm, culture, and way of life—different from the West, but so rich and beautiful when you embrace it. The more respect and curiosity you bring, the more Africa opens her arms to you.And be prepared: safaris are true adventures. There will be long rides on bumpy roads, the occasional bush toilet, a car stuck in the mud, or a moment when things aren’t perfectly timed. But that is part of the magic—every unexpected happening becomes part of the story. In exchange, you witness the breathtaking reality of the animal kingdom, up close and unfiltered. If you are considering a safari or adventure in Africa, don’t hesitate. Kubwa Five doesn’t just plan trips; they craft memories that will live with you forever.

So many memorable experiences for those who love nature, wildlife, cultures and have an adventurous spirit We decided on the 19 day Kubwa 5 safari of Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania in July 2025 because of their great reviews, they operate in multiple countries, and are a Uganda owned company. A guide from another tour company advised you pay more using a travel agent. I’ve been to Southern Africa and Tsavo west in Kenya before, but this was by far my best trip. In Uganda we met the friendliest people with smiles on their faces. I’m 70, so comfort was important and we chose the top end hotel option. Most were very good, some better than others. I found Wise the best low cost way to transfer payment.Highlights of Uganda included Murchison Falls, Chimpanzees in Kibale, Gorillas in the Bwindi impenetrable forest. The Batwa cultural tour and orphanage visit moved us. Our Uganda guide, Mustafa has been driving for 8 years which is important as some of the roads can be bumpy with no signs. Mustafa was outstanding, going out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our trip. He found tree climbing lions in Murchison Falls and shoebill storks on the last day driving back to Entebbe. In Kenya we saw an abundance of wildlife on the boat ride at Lake Naivasha staying at one of the best hotels, SOPA. The balloon ride in Maasai Mara was another memorable experience. We were apprehensive at first. Once floating gently above, we saw herds of wildebeest and zebra, along with lions with their kill. The cultural visit to the Maasai Mara was disappointing as they asked for money for everything although we got a taste as to how they live. I bought a lot of souvenirs to be shipped to Australia and could have used some advice on how to bargain. It was a long bumpy ride from Kenya to Tanzania where we got a new driver. We tried twice unsuccessfully to see the wildebeest crossing the Mara river at the Maasai Mara and northern Serengeti. I convinced my wife to go on the early morning drive in the northern Serengeti where there are fewer safari vehicles. We were rewarded with an incredible experience, herds of Wildabeest crossing the crocodile infested Mara river. Our driver got us in a great position for taking photos. Not once did we feel in danger from animals or people. We hardly had any insect bites, perhaps because it was the dry season. We were put in the group of gorillas not requiring a long hike and it only took 5 minutes to spot them. If you love nature, wildlife, and meeting people of different cultures and have an adventurous spirit, Kubwa 5 is for you.
