☺Our stay at Kotatieva Resort was truly magical. The cabins are cozy, comfortable and surrounded by beautiful nature, making it the perfect place to relax and disconnect.
We especially loved how peaceful and private everything felt, while still being close to Rovaniemi.
The staff were incredibly kind and attentive. Even though the restaurant was closed during our stay, they made sure we had everything we needed, which we really appreciated. The free transport was also a huge help, and Mika, the driver, is simply the best,such a lovely person and always willing to help.
An unforgettable experience, we would definitely come back ✨

☺Perfect location to see the northern lights, fantastic cabin, not too warm or cold. The staff are amazing and help accommodate to any needs that you may have, the friendliest people I have ever met.

We’ve just returned from a 5-day family trip to Lapland staying at Kotatieva, and it honestly exceeded all expectations.
From the moment we arrived, everything felt relaxed and welcoming. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by nature, which made it feel like a true escape while still being close to Rovaniemi and Santa Claus Village.
There was so much for the kids to do right on site, which we loved. Sledding was a massive hit, and they also really enjoyed the ice hockey, disc golf, snowshoe walk, and even feeding the reindeer. It meant we didn’t have to constantly travel for activities.
The staff were fantastic—friendly and helpful—but what we really appreciated was the “hands-off” approach. You’re given space to enjoy everything at your own pace, which made the whole experience feel very relaxed and personal.
A real highlight was our private family hot tub and sauna experience. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights that night, which made it incredibly special—definitely my personal favourite moment of the trip.
To top it all off, we had a private family dinner on our final night with amazing local produce. It was such a cosy and memorable way to finish our holiday.
We visited during an unusually warm spell (around 4–6°C), which meant there was less snow in some areas, but Kotatieva still had plenty, and the weather was actually very comfortable for the kids—only needing a couple of layers most of the time.
If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful, authentic, and family-friendly, I would highly recommend Kotatieva. It made our Lapland trip truly unforgettable.

☹it was a small cabin for 4 people, actually it was a structure on a trailer better suite for 2, you could feel it is moving when taking steps inside. there was a construction next door, the last thing on your holiday you want is the wake up to is a construction machine next door, this is why i go on a vacation- to have a nice vacation and then i wake up 8am on a machine noise next door, is this serious??? paying a lot of money and enjoy somebody bouildin a house or something next door? they offer a take away dinner option. do not opt in, it is terrible, try not to eat anyting than eating for the junk quality take away option, it is zero point value. on the other hand the dine in option is supposedly good,we did not have time for that but other guests say it is very nice, so go for dining or starve instead.

Wir sind zum Schlittschuhfahren in das Resort gefahren. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und die Bahn größtenteils gut befahrbar. Auch das anschließende Schlittenfahren auf den Rutschmatten war für kleine Reisegruppen ideal.
