Phenomenal place. I had some reservations about the idea of starting ketamine therapy, but I ended up taking a leap of faith. I can’t recall a single neutral interaction I had with any member of the team, it was all positive. The environment is tailored to give you a space to be at rest and explore how to best achieve your goals with the process. Trying to wrack my brain for anything that was unpalatable, but I’m drawing a blank.
Go in with an open mind, and they’ll take care of the rest. Would highly recommend, even if you’re only curious and want to ask for questions.

First off, I would like to say how amazing the staff is here. They were extremely attentive, understanding, and kind. Everyone that I interacted with in the clinic was wonderful, and I am very grateful for this experience. A little background of my history and why I ended up pursuing this treatment and my thoughts on it. I am a 28-year-old combat veteran and a recovering alcoholic with a little over two years of sobriety. I am very religious and although I take my spiritual life very seriously, I was waking up in the morning shaking with anxiety and overwhelmed with intense despair and depression. The feelings and internal turmoil were reaching the point where I was in a dire situation that I felt I could no longer continue in that state without some sort of immediate relief. I was trapped within my own mind in an endless loop of chatter that was absolutely debilitating. As an alcoholic my goal was to not put any mood- or mind-altering substances in my body, so initially I redoubled my efforts in my recovery program which did help get me to a place of more stability. I also delved deeper into my faith and that also helped get me to a better position. I think this is an important thing to note in my experience. Even with these things working in my life to gain gradual improvement, I was still living daily in abject misery. And reading about ketamine therapy online and its effectiveness against treatment resistant depression, anxiety, and PTSD, I decided to lay my prejudice aside and pursue this avenue. I also had positive experiences with psychedelics in my teenage and early twenties, and knew they had some benefit. I want to stress how important laying the groundwork prior to, during, and after the treatment was to me. I believe I got much more out of the experience because of that factor. Ketamine is difficult to describe, and may be impossible for me to really articulate. The sessions seemed to vary in intensity and experience, almost independent of dose, based on the state of being I was in on arrival to the clinic. Some were blissful and serene; others were unbelievably intense. The positivity and the understanding of the staff made a huge impact on the experience as well, I felt as though they were with me on my journey, each step of the way. The difference this treatment has made in my life has been significant and worth the investment in my opinion. Some of the biggest changes I noticed were that the internal monologue slowed enough to think clearly, and I felt an increased sense of peace and relaxation. My mood shifted a great deal, and I was able to come to terms with some deep fears and resentments. I felt more like myself and found that engaging in the world to not be quite the burden it was before. My nervous system, which often feels like its writhing without ceasing, was stilled significantly by the final session. In my opinion, ketamine is a tool, that if used correctly, can act as a springboard toward mental and emotional stability. In my case I do not believe that the experience itself is a cure all. But, is tremendously helpful in getting to the place inside that I was striving for. I would say that keeping an open mind, believing that you can get well, and that this treatment will help is fundamental. I wish you the best on your journey to wellness.

For some personal reasons, I was not able to complete the full round of ketamine infusions. But I had an excellent experience at AKC. I mostly dealt with Jon Wolfe, one of the co-founders. He was extremely supportive and understanding of me having to stop early. The money I had not used was refunded quickly. Every staff member I met was friendly and welcoming, and the setting up in the trees is beautiful. I am still eager to do a full round of infusions and will be back at AKC to do them. Highly recommended.
