Outstanding, Compassionate and Truly First-Class Service
Two weeks ago, our family faced the unexpected passing of my mother-in-law while she was visiting from the UK. As you can imagine, it was an incredibly difficult time for her husband, her daughter, and two grandchildren — especially as we had never organised a funeral in Australia before.
From the very first contact, Jason and his wife at Killick Family Funerals were simply out of this world. Their compassion, responsiveness, and ability to understand exactly what we needed (without us even knowing ourselves) made all the difference.
Jason took care of absolutely everything — including the necessary paperwork for repatriating her ashes to the UK, and fast-tracking the death certificate. These things mattered so much to us in the moment, and having someone experienced and understanding guiding us meant the world.
The photo presentation was the most beautiful I’ve ever seen — it moved us all deeply. It was thoughtfully put together, and the package even included an electronic album and USB copy to keep. The flowers were another thing we hadn’t thought about, but they were simply perfect — again, all organised by Jason and his team.
I did my due diligence and requested multiple quotes. Jason responded almost immediately, while others took from an hour to two days. I chose Killick Family Funerals for their prompt and friendly communication — and to our amazement, they also turned out to be the most affordable, which was not a consideration we only wanted the best service, this is what we got. The value for service provided was nothing short of remarkable.

Even though Jason had never met my husband he gave a most beautiful ceremony as though he knew everything about him. He made sure that the whole ceremony was heartwarming under such trying times. It didn’t stop at the funeral but he drove to my house to deliver my husbands ashes as well as his death certificate. A lot of people asked about my Mum and Nan's services and the various elements, and I made sure to recommend Jason and Katrina's services every time.
They cannot be given enough praise for all their hard work and time. They have been here serving our family diligently and proudly since mid-December. Working all the way through Christmas for Mum, just to get back to work on News Years Day for Nan.
They have provided an amazing, high quality service every step of the way. From the first meeting to the graveside, the team is ever present and always standing ready. It is a real comfort. A lot of the memorable elements that people loved directly came from their handiwork.
After speaking to a few people about prices / quality of service, I would highly recommend Jason Killick and his services. They are very transparent (more so than other namebrand companies), they do not upsell unnecessary extras or make you feel pressured, they are very knowledgable, adaptable and quick on their feet (you'd be surprised to know Windows 98 and other obsolete tech still exists in some pockets and unfortnately it might be your local funeral venue), and most importantly, they offer a quality service every time.

Oh my, where do I start. Everything right from planning to the actual day was just perfect. We were able to choose how we wanted my son's funeral, even got the option of a custom made coffin, it was the most beautiful coffin I have ever seen, my son would've been proud. The service was really lovely and what I couldn't say because of grief myself, Jason Killick (Officiant ) said it perfectly for our family. I'm so very happy to of gone with Killick Family Funerals in Ipswich Qld for my son's funeral. It couldn't of been done any better, everything was perfect. They are compassionate, understanding and supportive from start to still offering assistance after the funeral. They don't just leave you once it is over. The price was well worth the service my son had and I am forever grateful to Jason and Katrina Killick at Killick Family Funerals for all that they done for us as a family. A beautiful day, I wish I could put a photo with this of the custom made coffin, it was the best coffin I have truly ever seen.
