Mr Kash Aktar has been amazing, from the first time I met him to my 12 month sign off meeting. The first meeting I had with him was him ensuring me that I would be able to play football again and giving me full confidence that I would be in safe hands with him, he was always kind to me, very respectful, always was supportive and answered all the questions with ease and understood that I was nervous and knew that I wanted to take it slow coming back to play football. He always had a personal chat especially when it involved Liverpool but has been quiet the last time I saw him due to how they’ve been playing.
He is an amazing surgeon and had the personal touch that you want as a patient that gives you the ease and confidence that he’s done everything possible to give me the best opportunity for a great recovery and now I have great confidence in my knee because how he spoke to me and the assurance he gave me that he was going to do the best he can do give me the opportunity to play football again.

I met Kash back in 2024 to discuss issues with my left knee after recent issues and a recommendation from my physio Lucas. What an absolute pleasure it was to meet Kash, clearly discuss the options available and personal requirements for surgery and recovery.

After over a decade of unresolved right knee pain and being repeatedly told it was “wear and tear,” my consultation with Dr Kash Akhtar was genuinely transformative.
From the outset, Dr Akhtar was exceptionally thorough, precise, and deeply professional. He took the time to clearly explain what was happening inside my knee, identifying a loose body within the joint — something that had gone unrecognised, unaddressed and treated as non-urgent for years by the GP/NHS. I saw Dr Kash Akhtar in October 2025 for a left knee issue, which he quickly diagnosed as a meniscus tear. Thanks to his thorough assessment, he also identified problems in my right knee that were later confirmed by scans.
Within weeks, I was booked in for surgery, with great support from his secretary Katie, who was excellent throughout. The operation took place in December, it was smooth and completely stress free, and everything was clearly explained at every stage.

I initially saw Kash for knee pain which Id had for years that typical physios could not figure out. Kash was immediately attentive and nailed the issue leaving no stone unturned. I was shocked at how knowledgable he was and provided me with a lot of reassurance in a solution to my problem moving forward. Fast forward a few months later and I’m back running 5ks, playing football and so on without any pain. I can’t recommend him enough, he’s not the typical straight to surgery consultant and will provide you with bespoke care & guidance!
I came to Dr Akhtar with a bucket handle meniscus tear, understanding that there was a very slim chance of repair (the preferable operation in comparison to a trim.) He managed to repair it very well and I cannot express how grateful I am for his efforts. I am currently 3 months post surgery and am recovering very well, I couldn’t be happier.
