Having personally been a part of the classes (group and solo) I am awed at her determination, stamina and perseverence to go above and beyond each time. It is indeed an honour to have her as my guru!
Learning under the guidance of Lipsa ma'am has been one of the most rewarding and beautiful journeys of my life. She has taught me that Odissi is more than just about the skill but about the emotions and grace accompanied with it. Truly blessed to have her as my teacher and biggest inspirations. My daughter has been learning Odissi for last 6 years under the expert guidance of Guru Lipsa Satpathy. Needless to say, it's a beautiful art form, and wonderful stories and expressions as with all classical dances. Through Kala Sthal, my daughter has over the years, improved her understanding of the dance form, our beautiful culture, stories deep in our mythology . My daughter has also performed externally at a few places and also given exams under Gandharva Vishwavidyalaya. Guru Lipsa is an exceptional Guru and person. She has a very positive and inspiring persona, which encourages my daughter to push her boundaries and be disciplined. Lipsa and KalaSthal, are a significant part of our lives and we would remain connected for as long as possible.
Being here and learning under the guidance of lipsa mam has been a very beautiful journey for me till now.Mam really worked with me right from the scratch and I always see myself enjoying the process rather than just seeing odissi as a performance oriented skill.Really thankful to mam.
