K9 Clarity was an absolutely the right facilty to train our Belgion Malinois 2 yr old pup. David Pletka is the absolute best dog trainer here in San Antonio. David's ability to understand the needs of the dog's owner and the temperment of the dog starts day one; before the actual sit down to meet and greet with the dog. Before you meet with K9 Clarity/ David to discusses the different programs for your dog you will discuss the goals and costs of the different programs and what will best suit you and the final outcome of your dog. The program we went with was the a 30 day boarding program with Aggression/Behavior modification w/ Overcoming anxious fearful behavior training sessions. If you ever owned a Belgian Malinois you would understand the challenges of training these type of dogs and this is David's niche. We were provided with clear guidance and information of what the program would cover. The really nice thing, we weren't given the run around and it was no frills. I could definitely go on with the positive experience with K9 Clarity, but check out his posts on Instagram & Facebook. There is some really good information and videos to get a better idea of the capabilities K9 Clarity has to offer. Everyone's situation is different, but our dog has turned into wanting to learn, listens to his commands, and definitely is not as anxious as he used to be in the many different settings that you mind yourself with your dog. David starts with a small closed in environment and in the finall stages, public exposure. The nice thing was we were able to visit our dog after about 2 weeks and see the progress our dog made and we were also walked through some training and do's and don'ts with training and focusing on the right commands, recalls and release of the dog. It was incredible to see the progression our Belgian Malinois had made and the willingness and ability for him to continue to train. Our last session was a sad session, because our dog was in great hands with David at K9 Clarity and now it was time for him to leave and come back home. Note: this was our best session too...David walked us through more of our dogs progress and discussed future progression and reenforcement training that would have to continue at home before it would become second nature. Nonetheless the myself and my wife with be forever grateful to K9 Clarity and making our dog one of our best trained dogs. I can say we are 100% completely satisfied with K9 Clarity. We will definitely take our next dog to K9 Clarity, Thank you David

This was absolutely worth every penny. From the first time I contacted austin to the time we set up a good board and train for 4 weeks to dropping off our little boy Hank. He did an exceptional job! Austin was very clear with expectations and how our dog would be completely different once returned home. The moment we picked up Hank and spent 2 hours with us making sure everything was up to par and teaching us what our little boy had learned!! Our dog now is very confident, listens to all commands, and is overall much more happy than before! I cannot recommend this company enough! It is 2 friends who share the same passion and will TAKE CARE of you and your needs! Bravo to K9 clarity and thank you for making our pups life truly come to life!!!

David is an absolute pro! I came to David about a year ago to help with my dog-reactive dog. We shortly began training and were able to quickly make process. He breaks down the dog’s thought processes and gives owners the skills and knowledge make progress. We did both training lessons and a 10-day board and train. David is reasonably priced and was willing to work with me and my budget. While at the board and train, my dog made unbelievable progress. He treated my dog like family and had him interacting with the other dogs in the house in a safe manner. The main reason for the training was to have my dog interact with and live with my boyfriend’s dog while we were in the process of moving in together. David came to our house and worked with both dogs and after 3 months of slowly introducing the dogs, we are able to have them roam the house together comfortably and safely. Anytime I had questions, David was incredibly responsive via text message. While we still train almost daily, my reactive dog (yellow lab) now chooses to lay next to his sister and have a friendly relationship.

Austin did a great job with taking care of my sweet girl, Lola. Lola is a 4 year old lab that is very timid and we sent her away for a 3 week train and board. She is very insecure and sometimes act like she was heavily abused in her past life (she is a spoiled puppy with me). I feel much more confident now on introducing Lola to public places as I was always worried before. Austin sent us home with a Lola much more confident in herself and it has made me more confident in her future of going to public places! I would definitely recommend this training to any dog that needs some extra attention.

Austin is AMAZING!!! I had spent big money on another trainer to do what Austin did for me with our girl Sage! Before K9 clairity our girl was very reactive, very hyper, did not listen, would lung at kids and people and other animals, she was just a sress ball that i was at my last nerve with her. I couldnt walk her didnt trust her. But NOW oh my goodness you wouldnt beable to recognize her and wouldn't believe she was the old ways. All I can say are amazing things! You are with them for the life of your dog, any concerns they will be right there on the phone with you helping you out or they will be planning a day to come see you and help that way! This team is amazing and I wont be going anywhere else with my dog. She came back with what I needed her to do and act. She came back supper obedient. I love the work you all did and again just AMAZING work! Amazing people!!

We couldn’t be more pleased with our experience working with David at K9 Clarity! Our 2-year-old dog, Ranger, completed the board and train program, and the results have been phenomenal. David’s unique insight into Ranger’s needs helped correct his adverse reactions, including anxiety and reactivity. Absolutely the worst. Cannot get ahold of the main trainer at all. Have called and texted and got nothing. Lack of communication is so unprofessional and unacceptable. I will never be going through them. Even if I could get ahold of them it wouldn’t matter because they probably wouldn’t even show up. So if I could give them zero stars I would. I desperately needed help with my dog but i will be looking somewhere else. This is insane.

If you are looking around and comparing training programs for your dog I would love to recommend K9 Clarity. Austin was truly amazing with our boy, Waylon. Waylon went to Austin as an extremely anxious nervous boy. We were so happy when we picked our boy up. Waylon can now sit, down, and let us put a leash on and off without trauma to everyone involved. We can also pet him on the head and wash his face, which we were unable to do before his training. Austin we cannot thank you enough for all the hard work, love, and dedication we know it took to achieve what you did with Waylon. Oh, our baby that was an avoidance to touch dog is now a Velcro Baby!!!

We’ve been working with David for about four months now for boarding, training, and 1-on-1 sessions w/ our Cane Corso puppy, Na’la and honestly he’s been a game changer. From day one he wasn’t just focused on training our dog, he was just as much about training us as owners, which you wouldn’t even think you would need, right 😂 David has this calm, confident energy where Na’la listens to him like she’s known him forever and every time we have a session we walk away learning something new, not just commands, but why we’re doing what we’re doing. It’s not just “sit” and “stay”… it’s structure, confidence, leadership, all of that. He’s patient, super knowledgeable, and it is shown that he actually loves what he does. Our girl is doing amazing and we feel so much more confident handling her now, especially with her being such a big, powerful breed. We HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!!! The best trainer. We have taken our Malinois to several trainers, and David has been the only one who was able to identify what type of attention my dog needed. We were always afraid to take our dog for walks or even just outside the front door. With David's one on one lessons, our dog has gained confidence, he isn't afraid of other dogs or people. He has taught us how to hold our dog accountable and maintain obedience. After our first set of lessons the improvement was 100%. Highly recommend. Don't waste your money with another trainer. These lessons are tailored to your dog.

I had no idea what a catahoula was but I saw how pretty my dog was and adopted him from a shelter. His before family couldn’t keep him due to his high energy level. I had never had a dog of my own, only my wife’s dog who was already calmed down and trained when I met her. Chalupa was a calm dog at the shelter, and I thought things would be great. We took him to PetSmart and it was a light and day switch. He dragged us around the store, barked at everything, didn’t listen. The bigger issue was any time he would see literally anything, he would go nuts. I tried another local dog training company but his reactivity was too much and they expected me to just let him do what he’s doing until he grew bored of it. I was concerned he would try to bite someone. So, I found k9 clarity. From the 1st session, they not only started training chalupa, but they also started teaching me how to train him. I’m still not an expert like they are, but I can take my dog on walks without almost ripping my shoulder out of socket. Chalupa is still reactive but with the help of k9 clarity, I can do daily activities with him without worrying if he’s going to try and hurt someone. I’d highly recommend them.

I rescued a 6yr old Schnauzer from a man who had kept her in her crate most of her life. She was not socialized and was terrified of everything, people, dogs, cars, noises, movements, ect I needed help if I was going to keep her. I interviewed three other Trainers before finding David at K9 Clarity. I sent her to board and train with him. I picked her up 6 weeks later and went home with several commands to practice with her. She was a different dog. More relaxed and trusting. I practiced what David taught me and she did great. I had lots of questions which David answered promptly. I would highly recommend him. The work he did with my dog allowed me to keep her and know she was now comfortable in her own skin. She’s a much happier dog!
