We were exceptionally pleased with John and his team’s work on our home project, which involved replacing 14 cracked, single-paned windows to double-paned high-efficiency windows. The 18th-century house posed a number of challenges and required skill & expertise to which John’s crew was equal. They were clean, courteous, as unobtrusive as possible, and on-time — even on days when afternoon weather would potentially impact the schedule, they even arrived as early as 7am to get in a full workday! The project ran exactly on budget and as scheduled. We would recommend John T. Ambrose Renovations and Remodeling fully and without reservation (in fact, we already have to other possible clients), and we hope to use them again for future renovation projects.

We hired John after looking hard for a contractor who was fair and we felt we could trust. We were happy with his communication and honesty and openness to working to get exactly what we wanted. He shared subs that he used, while also being willing to work with our people if we already had them. Shortly after starting design for our kitchen, we had a fire outside our garage, resulting in that being a total loss. Unsure what to do as I watched the firefighters battle the fire, I called John. He rushed over, inspected the damage, got electricians there that night and restored power to our house the next morning. We clearly had picked the right guy. Throughout the process of the kitchen rebuild and garage repairs, John's workers were timely, clean, skilled and hard working. They were easy to engage with and clearly knew their stuff. John was always available to meet or problem solve if necessary and our kitchen and garage come out better than we could have dreamed. I highly recommend using John for any household needs.

We feel so incredibly lucky to have worked with John and his talented crew. We initially hired them to renovate our kitchen but in the midst of this work, we had a major fire in the garage (completely unrelated to the kitchen project). John really stepped up to help us through a very challenging time. He not only went above and beyond in helping us deal logistically in the aftermath of the fire but also offered us genuine support, empathy and comfort throughout the long recovery process. We contacted John to update 2 bathrooms in our colonial home earlier this year. After site inspection to determine the scope of the work, he provided a proposal with an honest estimate of cost and timeframe for completion. He also offered a designer to generate relevant drawings with specifications for each subcontractor and materials. John and his crew were very neat and responsive to our needs throughout the project. In addition, his select subcontractors did a great job in all aspects of their work. John communicated daily with us and coordinated contractor activities to ensure timely completion of each bathroom project. We would definitely call them again for future work needed on our home.

We called John back for another project. This time it was to build us a new front porch, which anyone driving 1A north of the clambox can admire. It came out great. We love the openness, the sturdiness, the use of quality materials. John‘s team was great to work with. They communicated well and listened to our ideas. The project was on budget and on time. We will continue to work with John and his team. John and his team remodeled our ancient bathroom. It's beautiful with new tile walk in shower. Lots of infrastructure work went into the project because of the age of the house. Well worth it.

Our deck had rotted in a lot of areas, and we needed to get it replaced. John advised us that Building Codes had changed, but he could upgrade the existing support structure to comply and still give us a new deck. He talked us through every step of the process, came up with a couple of design changes and delivered on-time and on budget a beautiful and inviting outdoor entertainment and relaxation area. The photos show the transformation of the deck space, but at the same time the underpinnings were all upgraded and brought to code. The workmanship is amazing, as every piece was meticulously fitted, and the deck was flawlessly executed. It is 5 Stars in all aspects.

John and his team recently completed a bathroom remodel for us, and we couldn’t be happier! From start to finish, John was incredibly communicative, helpful with decision-making, and clear in explaining the process and laying out the timeline. His team was wonderful, and I can honestly say we missed them a bit once the job was done (especially by our 13-year-old dog, who took a real liking to them!). John was very responsive - would work closely with us to understand our vision and make it happen. The work was meticulous, shout out to Brian - his main carpenter for his attention to detail and getting it right! John's trade partners - electrician, plumber and tile guys were also very good. I highly recommend this team!
