This company does superb work at an excellent price. On two occasions in the past year, Frank has digitized to USB not only VHS tapes but also UMAX tapes, which were the earlier, first version of enclosed tapes. The results were great, even for the UMAX tapes, which were very old -- 1976! Frank is clearly dedicated to his providing quality and value to his customers, and is very patient in explaining technical issues. I recommend John's Video Productions unreservedly.

Got my wifes birthday video fixed up and transfered to a usb. The video was from 1997 and the vhs was all ripped up. John was able to fix it right up and converted to a flash. Will be coming back to get more vhs tapes converted.

Frank did an excellent job of converting my VHS tapes from the 1990s to DVDs. I had originally filmed my movies with a camcorder and then transferred my movies from my camcorder tapes to my VHS tapes. I knew there would be some loss of definition in the videos when I did the transfer and also some degrading of the VHS tapes due to their age. However due to Frank's expertise and his conversion equipment, I was able to watch and enjoy my memories on the DVDs. In addition I had Frank convert the wedding VHS videos of my niece and nephew to USB sticks. I will be giving the USB sticks directly to my niece and nephew so they can view their wedding videos before I watch them. Finally, Frank is extremely fair in his pricing compared to his competitors. If you have any videos that require conversion, I highly recommend you use John's Video Productions.

Got a few old family VHS tapes digitized with John who couldn't have been more helpful. He got the job done in just a day, provided us with a flash drive containing the digitized videos, and even kept a copy on file for a week as a precaution. His prices are very reasonable—$15 for a 2-hour tape, with any extra time added up and charged accordingly. Also appreciate the clear store hours (9 am to 1 pm). Will definitely be returning and recommending him.

Capturing "those magic moments" ... I'm a musician, composer, singer/songwriter. Over the course of many years I have turned to John's Video for the company's always dependable (and affordable) preservation of my original recordings - many of which required transferring from older analogue format to digital. The results were never less than perfect! M ✨

I recently had to convert some ancient VHS videotapes to a hardware-independent format, in this case mp4. I ended up at John's Video Productions, 636 Pape Avenue, a small, independent service, located one block south of the first TTC stop south of Danforth. Frank did an competent, professional job on the conversions, despite them dating from 1991 and 1993, and would certainly give him any repeat business from my end. In my opinion, he is quite knowledgeable about various media and conversion details, and is fully aware of a client's needs. I found his prices to be very reasonable, roughly ten dollars per tape in my case, depending on media size and number of volumes.

Excellent service!! My siblings and I were trying to get my parents old and forgotten home videos converted to a digital format as a Christmas surprise, and after considerable struggle between trying to do it ourselves vs finding a place that offered the service and would have it done in time for the holidays (only about one week out) we were recommended John's Video, who was not only able to have them done on time but also at the most competitive price we had seen! He was also able to restore some of the tapes that had more damage than we realized. The communication and accommodation throughout was amazing and very much appreciated - especially around such a busy time of year - and we are so thankful to be able to have these memories brought back to life and preserved.

I had some very old VHS tapes digitally converted recently and was very impressed with both the service I got from Frank and also the quality of the tapes. Frank mentioned there was some mold on the tapes and that the quality was not going to be great, but I was pleasantly surprised that they were all completely watchable and the audio was intact. Now I'll have these important memories forever! Would strongly recommend John's Video for any of your video needs. Thanks again!
