Dr.Antoniou performed bilateral femoral joint arthroplasties in September 2024.
Almost immediately I was relieved of the pain in both my hips. Initially there was considerable edema of both my legs. Fortunately over the following months this subsided. Recently I had the 1 year postsurgery reevaluation based on radiology results. This showed excellent position of the implants.
I am very content with the results and the follow up provided.

Dr. Antoniou performed both of my total knee replacements. The most recent one was a little more than 2 weeks ago. I have total confidence in his words and surgical skills. Knee replacements are serious operations and it is important to believe that your surgeon is at the top of his field. That describes Dr. Antoniou perfectly.
I had my surgery on October 6th, but prior to the event the whole process leading up to the surgery was a well guided and well informed process. I knew everything that i needed to do and provide by when. On the day of the surgery, I was briefed by Dr Antoniu before the surgery, and the surgery went very well. He came to visit after the surgery after i had woken up, and debriefed me on whats next. The recovery processes at Westmount was outstanding, nurses, admin and every interaction was pleasant and very professional and focused on getting me back on my feet. A well run process from start to finish.

Dr. Antoniou is a wonderful surgeon and a very kind and personable man. I had my hip replaced on Oct. 18, 2025 and am doing very well. I had no pain afterwards and only took Tylenol. The nursing and support staff were first rate and very attentive. This surgery has been life changing -- for the first time in many years, I am pain free. Dr. Antoniou is a first-rate surgeon. Knowledgeable, personable, caring, kind. Best pre- and postoperative care I have ever experienced. His entire team without exception has been supportive and kind to guide me through a total knee replacement.
Dr. Antoniou and Adrian handled my bi-lateral total knee replacement in November 2024 with professionalism and efficiency. They clearly have mountains of experience. For this, I am grateful. That said, I would have appreciated a slightly more caring bedside manner. It was never properly explained to me before the surgery that having both knees done at once is quite an ordeal, even for someone relatively young (55) and in good health. Neither stopped by to check in with me during the week that I was in hospital following my surgery, which I found odd. And I was left largely to my own devices to arrange for a transfer to a rehab centre for 2 weeks after that, because they didn’t seem to feel it was necessary. So no warm fuzzies here! Except in the case of Maria and Jeremy at the front desk — they are both amazing.

We are very pleased to hear that you are happy with the outcome of your bilateral knee replacement — achieving an excellent surgical result is always our top priority, and we are delighted that your recovery is going well.
We also sincerely regret that some aspects of your hospital stay did not meet your expectations. As a teaching hospital within the public health-care system, much of the day-to-day postoperative care is provided by our residents and fellows under our direct supervision. This model ensures safe, high-quality, and high volume care while allowing us to train the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons, but it can sometimes feel less personalized than what patients may experience in a private setting.
It is also important to note that access to rehabilitation differs significantly between the public and private systems. In our private facility, patients receive intensive physiotherapy for several hours each day, which consistently allows even bilateral knee replacement patients to return home within 48 hours. Unfortunately, the structure and resources of our socialized health-care system do not currently allow for this level of postoperative support, despite our ongoing advocacy for improvements in an environment of repeated budget constraints.
We understand that this part of your recovery felt challenging, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We are committed to continuously improving the patient experience within the realities of the public health-care system.

I can't thank Dr. Antoniou and his staff enough for giving my life back. I had both hip replacements last year at the same time and I'm back to full activity. Do not be afraid of doing both... it's a miracle operation.

Extremely pleased with how everything went. Travelled from British Columbia to Montreal for bilateral hip replacement after waiting over a year for a surgery date in BC for a single hip replacement. and knowing that I would have continuous pain in my other hip for an extended period of time.
After speaking to Dr Antoniou for the first time, he indicated that both hips could be replaced at same time, that was the option I choose.
The next day I contacted Maria and we decided on a date.
All my questions were answered promptly and the process was smooth.
The care I had at the clinic was very caring and professional.
The meals were very good and plentiful!
I tell everyone that the surgery for me was life changing and I wish I would have got it sooner as opposed to thinking the public system would be there for me when I obviously needed both hips replaced.
Six weeks after surgery I am back to the gym on the bike and treadmill slowly rebuilding all the strength I have lost. My goal is to be ready for golf in April!
