I engaged Lachlan to represent me in a separation matter and, unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing.
From the outset, the costs quoted were significantly lower than what I ultimately ended up paying. As the matter progressed, additional charges were continually added, and I felt there was very little transparency around the true cost of representation. By the time I terminated the engagement, I had paid over $10,000 in legal fees.
Communication was another major issue. Responses were often delayed, and I frequently felt that expectations were being set that were not later met. There were repeated instances where timelines and outcomes were presented optimistically, only for reality to be very different.
To make matters worse, fees were increased during the process, adding further financial pressure at what was already one of the most difficult periods of my life. Eventually, I lost confidence in the representation, terminated the engagement, and represented myself.
Going through a separation is stressful enough without feeling unsupported by your legal representative. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this service.
I would welcome the opportunity to resolve my concerns directly with the firm, including a review of the fees charged.
