We had our biannual HVAC service completed today, and I just have to give a shoutout to our technician, “Pickle.” He was incredibly personable, knowledgeable, and professional from start to finish. He took the time to walk me through everything, answered all of my questions, and even shared helpful tips to get the most out of our system and extend its lifespan. As a community manager, I’ve worked with JHood Services across several properties throughout the DMV area, in addition to using them at my own home and they consistently deliver. Their team is responsive, reliable, and provides excellent customer service every time. We just signed up for another year of preventative maintenance, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, high-quality HVAC service!

Did my AC unit check-up. Did a very thorough check-up for $19. Also, I asked them about changing/replacing mother board of my heating unit. I am told that they charge around $400 if the board is still under warranty and received free from Carrier. ARS charged me $800, delayed the installation by 8 days in the heat of winter although I paid $25 every month to them for premium service.

Update (2026): I called them for water heater replacement for our new house. Got a reasonable quote and they were able to send someone out the next day. Kurdo was our plumber this time. He was communicative and knowledgeable, and easy to ask questions. He didn’t just install the water heater as is, he actually thought through the setup to make things safe and practical for us. At this point they’ve become our go-to for HVAC and plumbing. We've used them in two houses now Review from 2023: This 2023, I called JHood because our ac compressor suddenly died. We had to replace the entire ac unit, the indoor coil and the outdoor compressor (which were mismatched in sizing by the previous owner). Bean and Robert were very professional and knowledgeable. The pricing was upfront and fair. We highly recommend them. Review from 2022: We just moved to a new house and the exhaust pipes from the water heater and furnace were rusty and old. I called J Hood and they sent Josue early the next day. Josue explained and showed me the parts that need to be replaced and gave me an onsite quote. He was professional and knowledgeable. I'll definitely call him again for AC maintenance come summer.

Tony, Kurdo, and Nick were very professional, competent, and polite. They came on time, made adjustments to unforseen obstacles, and finished the job considerably sooner than promised. They left the office as clean as they found it. They were very thorough as far as explaining the new system's operation and maintenance, warranties, and assured me of their availability in case the system did not function as expected.
