Matthew is a magician Matthew came today because our pool heater was not working. He asked a couple of questions, gave his best estimate of what was wrong, and…magic! Called to replace bulb for pool light. Was told that you don’t replace bulbs, only the entire fixture at over $1400. That’s crazy. Wasted $49 for that. The reason I called was the light was not coming on. It does not need a new fixture!

Thank you for the feedback. We understand why this felt frustrating if you were expecting a simple bulb replacement.

After inspecting the light, our technician found signs of possible water intrusion, including fogging inside the lens. With underwater pool lighting, that usually means the entire fixture itself may be compromised, not just the bulb. For safety, reliability, and warranty reasons, we do not recommend installing a new bulb into a fixture that appears to have water inside it.

The $49 charge was for the service visit and inspection, and we provided an estimate for the proper repair. We’re sorry the recommendation was not what you expected, but our goal is to avoid unsafe or temporary repairs that could fail again quickly.

Just by pure luck I happened across this company after firing yet another worthless contractor. These guys, so far, are the best! Honest, very knowledgeable, understand extremely intricate systems and have a great reputation in the pool industry for helping people who were scammed by any number of illegal contractors. You can absolutely trust that JD Pools and lighting will help. It’s even says that right on their vehicles. “ We can help” the owner could not be more friendly or professional. Trust me, you can trust them 100%
