I have done 2 courses with Ivor and recently a one off close-up field session. He is very helpful & knowledgeable in both theory & practice; produces handouts and offers support on questions beyond the scope of a particular session. I highly recommend him.

Ivor took me on for work experience, if you book Ivor for any course you will gain a lot of knowledge in photography. For the week I was with Ivor for I learnt a lot of new things I would have never found out on my own in a million years. Him and his family treated me very kindly and I wouldn't recommend anyone else if you are going to try and learn more about photography, videography or photo editing. I wouldn't say I was the best at photography going into the work experience but I came out a thousand times better than I was after Ivor took me on.

Cant speak more highly of Ivor. Did a set of photo's for us. Even in winding weather the photo's are spot on. don't hesitate in booking him for any photo's you need. You won't be disappointed highly recommend.

I have just recently been on Ivor’s course photography for beginners and I have learnt so much and feel way more confident now in picking up my camera when taking portrait, landscape, wildlife and light trail photography then I ever did prior to the course and Ivor makes you feel at ease in the class and out and on locations while learning. Highly recommended Ivor for learning photography

I enjoyed the photography course run by Ivor in Newbiggen.He is very patient and explains everything clearly.He gave me the confidence to experiment and to take better photos.The class got out and about to lovely venues in Northumberland.If you want to improve your photography Ivor’s help is invaluable!

I've attended 2 of Ivor's courses. Beginners and intermediate. We did some work in the classroom and out on location. Both courses were enjoyable and very informative. Ivor is a great teacher, happy to share his knowledge and answer any questions. He is approachable, friendly and full of great ideas when talking about photography. I would recommend him for photography courses at any level.

I was scared of my camera and never really used it correctly. I signed up for a beginners course with Ivor and within 6 weeks I feel I am able to change the settings and use my camera properly. Ivor was a really good and patient instructor and the group was super friendly and supportive. I can highly recommend Ivor and courses at Newbiggin Art Centre. I can't wait to do the intermediate course and take my camera with me for more adventures.

Highly recommend! An excellent teacher.I attended a beginners, intermediate and advanced course over a year. I wanted to learn more about digital photography cameras and editing. We worked indoors and out, including night shots. Learnt so much, and to a high standard. The whole process has improved my photography. His style is so positive, he’s patient, and non patronising. As a mixed group of abilities, it made no difference, we were all listened to and given one on one time. We all had different brand cameras, Ivor helped, knowing quickly each one’s function,despite being a very good, pro Olympus ambassador. Fantastic Course, and tutor!

Great course for beginners, leading to advanced. Due to holidays I missed a few weeks however the weeks I attended were invaluable and enjoyable. I would highly recommend the course should you be interested in moving from your phone.

I've just finished up attending a 6 hours photography course that my partner purchased as a Christmas present with Ivor. We did the course over 3 x 2 hour sessions. I cant recommend Ivor enough and i've learnt so much about photography and a lot more about my camera that I didn't even know! Ivor is very well educated in photography and is a great teacher. A very patient guy who explains everything in detail, and explains it over and over again until I took it in. If your looking for a very experience and overall fantastic photographer, I would highly recommend booking with Ivor for any service. And if your new into photography or even if you think you know photography I would highly advise taking a course with him. It was so helpful and i've been able to learn and develop new skills. I'll defiantly be booking again as and when I need to refresh or learn something new. Thanks again Ivor!

We recently asked Ivor to take some photographs of a large family group for a family member's 80th birthday. He was very flexible in terms of location, and we were lucky to have good weather for an outdoor shoot on Embleton Bay with Dunstanburgh Castle as a backdrop. We were very happy with his work (both the formal and informal photographs), and would definitely recommend him.

Highly recommend the basic bronze package to anyone who is picking up a camera for the first time. Ivor is great, goes at a pace which suits you and shows you the basic but very important techniques to get the most out of your camera. Did 3x 2hr sessions around the Northumberland coast and loved every minute of it. Excited to put my new skills into practice. Ivor is charming and very knowledgeable and able to put you at ease quickly. Real hands on practical sessions with advice and guidance throughout. Thank you Ivor!

Myself and a friend signed up for a bronze training with Ivor and we both really enjoyed it and learnt lots. Ivor is very patient and made the sessions interesting and fun. My dogs had a great time when we were learning how to photograph moving things. I would highly recommend Ivor's courses

Ivor helped save an old family portrait that fell off the wall and the broken glass cut into the photo. No one else would help me with a picture of this size but he totally restored it. It had also discoloured overtime but he sorted that too. I am over the moon with the result and can't thank him enough!! Would recommend to anyone.
