Fabulous day in the highlands We had an absolutely lovely day out on our tour with Ali. The main focus was exploring the scenery in Glen Afric. Ali made sure to bring us to some beautiful hiking spots and was very conscientious of my husband’s mobility issues, making sure to choose more accessible trails for us, while still showing off the scenery to the max. We learned a lot about the history of the region and even stopped to meet some highland cows! We finished with a whisky tasting, which was the perfect end to a lovely day. Ali was really flexible and tailored the day to us. I highly recommend booking with Inverness Tours. We wish we had booked more than one day!

Incredible tour with Irene We had an incredible tour with Irene! She was a compelling storyteller, knowledgeable, and went out of her way to find us additional points of interest to see on our journey. Irene also navigated a travel hiccup due to marathon road closures with no problem, keeping us on time and able to see everything we wanted.

Ali Wilson is extraordinary! My friend and I spent five fantastic days with Ali Wilson, driver/guide extraordinaire. Ali is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her work. Her enthusiasm is absolutely infectious. We were well cared, well informed and also entertained—Ali has a beautiful singing voice and treated us to several traditional Scottish songs. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Inverness Tours - 4 day Highland tour We took the 4 day tour of the highlands with Inverness Tours and Ali Wilson was our guide in Sept 2025. We had a fantastic time and Ali was a great match for our group. She was extremely knowledgeable, cheery, accommodating to our moms and aunt (all age 75+) and always professional. While 4 days isn't enough to fully explore the highlands of Scotland, we got a good taste of the history and natural beauty of the area. We would highly recommend your company and Ali for any future tours.

Highlands Tour that exceeded expectations. Our guide Scott was absolutely fabulous. His explanations of history were exceptional and he always found a way to tell the story with the facts blended with humor. He hit all the highlights and was very flexible as we had a two day tour of the Highlands. I highly recommend him...and will definitely book with him again if we are back in Scotland for a more extended visit of the Country. The personal connection we felt at the end of the tour was amazing.

Lovely Tour of the Highlands Our guide, Dave, arrived with his kilt on - was very fun! We modified the tour on the fly with him to fit our timeframe (we wanted to be back a little earlier) and we wanted more shopping and to see some highland cows. We went to the Culloden Battlefield, the Cairns, Cawdor Castle and a place called Holm Mills where there was lunch, a wool/weaving demo, firearm demo and great shopping. In addition, we saw a lot of the countryside as well as Inverness. We finished the tour with a visit to Robertson's Farm to visit highland cows. There was also a nice gift shop there. Loved this tour and would definitely use Inverness Tours again if we're in the area!

Amazing tour of Mackay Country! I wanted to write to you to tell you what an amazing time we had on our Clan Mackay tour! It was a fun-filled 2 days of beautiful scenery and history and Dave was the best guide we could have imagined. Communication was great, Dave was an incredible driver with mad backing-into-spaces skillz, a friendly and informative host who taught us so many things about Scottish history and culture, and who had planned the perfect trip. When I mentioned how much I wanted to see the ocean up close (this after our trip to the amazing Smoo caves), he added a quick detour to take us to a beach for a short walk in the ocean! My husband (the Mackay in the family) was especially happy to learn all the detail about Clan Mackay and the Sutherland Clearances (boo! hiss!). Dave even managed to find us a place on the way to Strathnaver to stop for some Mackie's ice cream, after my husband mentioned the company's jams, which we can get here in Canada. Despite Dave's clear love of his job, depth of knowledge about everything Scotland, from history to geography to botany and beyond, and the enjoyment he takes sharing Scotland with visitors, what impressed me the most about him and what I most want to share with you was his sheer genuine kindness and niceness and thoughtfulness. As we were driving along one of the one-lane roads with the passing places, we met a van coming towards us, clearly being driven by a tourist, who misunderstood the way passing places worked. The van crossed the lane to pull into the passing place, which was on our side of the road and not theirs. As we passed them, Dave stopped, rolled down his window, and with a smile and a very friendly face and voice, kindly explained to the clearly nervous tourist how passing places worked. So many people would have just passed, maybe with a head shake and complaints to everyone in the car about the other person's mistake; Dave took the time to help out the person and make the road safer for everyone.

Fantastic All-Day tour around the Inverness Area Our family had a fantastic all-day tour of the sights around Inverness. Alan, our tour guide, knew the area and history really well; he had tons of interesting places and interesting information to show and tell us throughout the day. My 11 year old said that the tour was his favorite part of our entire trip to Scotland! Wonderful Outlander inspired day tour with Scott Guthrie ! I booked an Outlander day tour departing from Edinburgh for July 2025 and from day one my communication with Inverness Day Tours and Scott Guthrie was excellent.Scott knew it was a big birthday for my husband and greeted him with a gift upon our departure from our hotel. He was punctual, friendly, organized, passionate and kind all throughout our day together.We visited 4 different sites that were filming locations for Outlander and Scott paired this with historical information, contemporary stories and a binder full of photos to remind us of their place in Outlander.
