This was such a fun experience. Royce was informative and entertaining. He made us laugh. Good guy. Saw a lot of alliigators. Lots of different sizes including babies. We got to hold baby alligators. I was educated and I appreciate that. Their grounds are lush and safe. Beautiful area. They too have a nice gift shop.
My family has visited the InstaGator several times over the 10 years we lived in Covington. It has always been an educational and fun experience each time! My kids’ favorite things to do are feeding the alligators marshmallows and getting to hold the baby alligators. Highly recommend for class field trips, homeschool/small group, or family visits! This place is a wonderful experience no matter what your age!
*Tour guide Royce makes this a memorable experience and keeps everything fun and lighthearted.
My son went on a field trip today to Insta-Gator. I wasn’t there, but he has been talking about how much fun he had for the past 4 hours since he got home. I don’t normally leave reviews, but something happened today I thought I should share. With the holidays coming up, I could only afford to pay for the field trip, I couldn’t afford to send extra for the gift shop (They took charter buses so it was an abnormally expensive field trip). This morning, we talked about it and I explained that he wouldn’t be able to buy a souvenir. Well imagine my shock when he came home with a souvenir anyway. He told me the people at Insta Gator gave him a stuffed animal anyway, even though he didn’t have money, so that he wouldn’t be left out. I can’t express how much I appreciate that. It made my son’s day. So thank you to the employees who went above and beyond today.
Royce was a very entertaining tour guide! We learned a lot more about alligators and they even have a Nile crocodile you can see (behind glass) up very close! Getting to feed the alligators and hold one for a photo was a very memorable experience. All of the staff members that were on-site the day the power went out were spectacular. They all made sure to let us know what was going on (someone hit a power line in town and knocked out the whole block) and still allowed our tour to start on schedule and showed us a great time. This was worth the scenic little trip up from NOLA, giving us an excuse to drive the Pontchartrain causeway and through some lovely peaceful forested residential areas. There is a gift shop with a decent variety of alligator themed items plus a selection of cold sodas and energy drinks. Overall I totally recommend this, the price is very reasonable and it goes towards a good cause run by great people!
Drove by it a couple of times and decided to to check it out. Glad I did. The nice young lady that was my tour guide did an excellent job. It was nice to learn about the animals especially the alligators. I was able to touch and pet some. Will definitely go back next time I am in the area. Highly recommend.
