We had room 200 which was not part of the main building. Its a cozy place for a couple and very private because there are no shared wall. The hotel itself has a nice garden. As an extra bonus the is a lounge, gallery, library and a widow walk to see the water front. There is a baby grand piano for the guest to play and games. The piano seems to be a little out of tune but I enjoyed playing it. Breakfast is server right at your door. This place has an excellent location and easy to walk to restaurants and live music at night. It does not have a pool so if you go during early or late in the year, it should not mater.
Incredible location nestled in the heart of Beaufort, N.C. My wife and I staid the weekend for our 22nd wedding anniversary. Incredible staff and genuine hospitality. Many stores and restaurants within walking distance. Balconies overlooking beautiful scenery. This is a great place to spend to have your home away from home.
Our first stay at the Inlet Inn was about five years ago, and it left such a great impression that we recently returned—and I’m happy to say it was just as wonderful, if not even better.
From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel right at home. The room was beautifully appointed and exceptionally clean, with a comfortable, relaxed feel that made it easy to unwind.
The highlight, once again, was the view. Sitting on the balcony overlooking Taylor Creek, watching fishing boats and sailboats pass by, is simply spectacular—peaceful, scenic, and uniquely Beaufort.
The location couldn’t be better. We enjoyed walking to nearby shops, the Beaufort Historic Site, and several excellent restaurants, all just a short stroll away.
It’s rare to return somewhere after several years and find it just as special—but the Inlet Inn delivered. We’ll definitely be back again.

Thank you, Randy! You're the best! 💯
A real gem in Beaufort
This place was amazing! It is located right across the street from the boats that take people over to the small islands with wild horses. Many people go over for the day and sit on the beach and swim. The location is perfect! Our room was waterfront (water across the two lane street). It sits at the end of the little town that has shops and restaurants (maybe 2-3 blocks long). The room was very large with a king bed and a pull out sofa. There was also a drop leaf table and two chairs where you could sit to have the yummy breakfast they deliver TO YOUR DOOR each morning!! We had small quiches, orange juice, tea and coffee and delicious fresh baked muffins! Yummy! There is a microwave and small refrigerator in the room in a separate little area as you enter the room. The staff were all super friendly! Everyone smiling and happy to give recommendations. The room was very clean too. No complaints at all! They sell a few snacks in the lobby along with bottles of wine and cold beer. There is an upstairs guest area on the third floor with lovely furnishings and plenty of books to read. Also some cards and dice. From this gathering area you can go up the stairs and sit in a small loft area that looks out at the harbor area. Through an exterior door there is a small area to be outside and watch the boats. You truly are right in the heart of the town which has beautiful old homes that are well manicured. I would DEFINITELY recommend this place!!
We love this Inn .They have great service, quiet location, and quiet clean rooms.
Located on the relatively quiet end of downtown Beaufort waterfront with great views of the banker ponies, dolphins, and walking distance from shops and restaurants. Rooms are freshly updated and beautifully appointed from the comfortable beds and pillows to the repurposed vintage bathroom mirrors with their distinctive patina flecks. My favorite feature was the regular wooden room door and key (no heavy room door that slams shut). Rooms are spacious and comfortable, bright and airy as well as beautifully decorated. You will find all of the usual suspects … flat screen, fridge, coffee pot, hairdryer. The rooms have quite large balconies with comfortable rocker chairs and a beautiful view of the docks and Carrot Island. My 2nd floor king waterfront did not disappoint. A scrumptious complimentary breakfast is included between 7:30 am - 9:30 am. You simply call and they bring it to your room within minutes! Muffins, quiche, bagels, yogurt, coffee, tea, juice. The Inlet Inn is family-owned and the staff are Beaufort locals with a wealth of knowledge of the area. Friendly and personable too. The 3rd floor has a cozy nautical lodge-like sitting area and a widow’s walk where you could retreat to have a private zoom meeting or simply gather with friends. It is a thoughtful common space created for guests! There is ample parking enclosed neatly in the inner courtyard parking area. The flickering lanterns and strings of garden lights adorn the property and are a timeless and beautiful touch at night! The Inlet Inn is the perfect retreat for empty-nesters and retirees who seek to be transported back to a simpler time. It truly has a bed and breakfast feel and all of the spaces are intentional and brilliant to achieve this - no pool, no noise, no kids running around … only quiet flower garden seating areas. I visited the first days of March and I am certain the “shoulder seasons” are the ideal time to visit (March/April and September/October). The Inlet Inn is a beautiful gem in Downtown Beaufort and will remain my first choice for future visits!

We absolutely loved our stay at The Inlet Inn. It’s a charming, quiet spot right on the water in the heart of the historic district.
The highlight was definitely the private balcony—there’s nothing better than watching the boats go by with a morning coffee. The rooms are cozy and clean, the staff is incredibly welcoming, and you can walk to every shop and restaurant in town. If you want a peaceful, authentic stay with the best views in the area, this is the place. We’ll definitely be back!

Aw, shucks, Jake...thanks for the kind review. Come back and see us soon! - Sara
We are living on our boat, Safari, for the winter in Beaufort. Then a winter storm, the worst in decades rolled in, things got real very fast. Before it hit, I called the Inlet Inn and spoke with Sara to explain our situation and asked if a last-minute room might be possible if conditions worsened. She couldn’t have been more gracious or accommodating.
As the snow kept falling and our heaters struggled to keep up, we made the call and Sara told us to come on over. From that moment on, everything was easy. Check-in was seamless, they stocked our room with firewood for the fireplace, asked if we needed anything else, and took our breakfast order to be delivered the next morning.
The room itself was charming and surprisingly spacious, with a king-size bed, refrigerator, comfortable seating area in front of the fireplace, and a patio overlooking Taylor’s Creek, beautiful even in the snow. Bill and the rest of the staff were incredibly kind and attentive throughout our stay.
If you’re looking for a welcoming, well run Inn right in the heart of Beaufort, especially one that truly takes care of its guests, the Inlet Inn is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended.
