Darren was professional from the start. We wanted our fireplace and hearth reduced in size and he was able to advise us of what we could and couldn’t do. He did a fantastic job, removing the old fireplace, relining the chimney and rebuilding a much better sized fireplace for the room using the same bricks. He also gave advice on what size stove we should have. His work was meticulous and he was friendly and polite throughout, keeping a very tidy workplace despite it being a messy job. Thank you Darren, we’re delighted!

Darren is fabulous I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him, he is highly knowledgable in fireplaces, stoves, and flues, is neat tidy, polite, unobtrusive and goes above and beyond to get a quality job done! He gave me good, honest advice and we were so pleased with the first Clearview stove and flue installation, that we later asked him to do a much trickier one, involving lots of very careful work to remove a concrete 60s existing fireplace surround, so as not to damage the wood panelling in the room. (As the house is listed) He managed to remove it zero damage and cleaned and tidied after himself- for once no dust with building work! Upon exposing the uneven floor beneath he fixed the hearth subbase and gave it strength to hold the fireplace surround. He advised on sourcing of this and helped us (very patiently and with no pressure to choose!) find a company that could produce them bespoke to our space that wouldn’t mean cutting away the wood panelling. He then installed the glue and new wood burning clearview stove in the space and fitted new cowls to the chimney too. On top of that, as he was passing and saw some tiles had broken he fixed them and unblocked my drain pipe. He truly went above and beyond. And we have a great product to boot. We are so happy that we have a fireplace and stove that is sympathetic and be-fitting of the room and that works really well.

Darren Wells was recommended by the founder of Clearview Stoves of Ludlow. I cannot recommend Darren more highly. He knocked out two imposing 1980s brick fireplaces, rebuilding the interior fireplace walls, re-plastering and then installing two handsome fire surrounds, smart slate hearths and two clean burning Clearview stoves and flues. It’s a brilliant job and a total transformation. All done with the minimum of fuss, dirt and inconvenience. His expertise, professionalism and workmanship are superb. He is highly trustworthy and super tidy. There was a minimum of disruption and intrusion throughout, Darren kept everything so clean we were able to continue to use both rooms while he was working. Superb work. Outstanding. Thank you very much, Darren.

We can't say enough about Darren's professionalism, skill and efficiency. He was excellent. It started with a recommendation from the local chimney sweep ("there's only one person you should ask to fit a woodstove. Darren Wells") and we never once regretted out decision to ask Darren to help us out. Over a number of visits, Darren opened up our existing fireplace and created a beautiful space before fitting a woodstove, flue and chimney. He provided us with expert advice and recommended a wood supplier. Highly recommended!!

Darren did an excellent job completely renovating our 1970’s brick fireplace. Removing a raised brick plinth, plastering, installing a new wood burner, chimney lining and oak mantlepiece was all carried out with great care and attention to a lovely finish. Highly recommend.

We wanted to change our Gas Burner for a Log Burner and I asked Darren to quote based on reviews I had read online. As soon as he came into the house I knew he was the man for the job. Darren does a very thorough job and has excellent attention to detail. He removed the Gas fire, re-lined and insulated the Chimney and fitted our new Heta Inspire Stove. He worked very neatly and did an excellent job of covering up and cleaning up. Excellent job and great service. i would have no hesitation in recommending Darren
