My wife & I were lucky enough that our original tour at a different location was cancelled due to bad weather. The team at Troll was immediately able to contact their colleagues on another tour and we were able to go on an even better adventure just 30 minutes later.
This location is less packed with tourists, slightly more remote, but much more stunning. It requires a little more kayaking effort to get out to the main icebergs & glaciers, but it’s an absolute once-in-a-lifetime experience that’s totally worth it. Pretty straightforward kayaking, nothing too strenuous.
You are literally in the middle of a lake with large glaciers and their broken icebergs all around you. Jaw-dropping experience and our guides didn’t rush us through it. They gave us the perfect amount of time to take photos, videos, and soak it all in.
Our tour guides Iskren and Ivo were super friendly and knowledgeable. They seemed so comfortable and at-ease like they’ve done this dozens (maybe hundreds) of times before, which was actually true. Iskren was especially at an advanced level as the lead guide and borrowed our phones on his kayak to take amazing photos of us.
This was one of our absolute peak travel adventure experiences EVER! Incredible team that made it happen. Thank you guys beyond words.

This is a great tour. Our guides Iskren and Ivo were fantastic and very knowledgeable. There were only 7 of us plus the two guides, no one else around. Even though the weather was mizzly, no sun, there was no wind. We were able to take a leisurely paddle around the icebergs and glacier. We were not rushed and were able to enjoy the beautiful blue glacier.
We would recommend this tour
We took the tour today with Iskren and Ivo. First, this tour was one of my favorites! If there is one word to describe it, I would say majestic. The icebergs themselves were a stunning blue color and ever so humbling in size. The glaciers surrounded the larger sized icebergs. The men led us through inlets and canals where the glaciers and icebergs encircled us. They gave us pointers on how to do all of it safely and even took pictures of us in front of two different icebergs. It felt otherworldly and definitely was not a tour I expected to take beginning of this year, but here we are, in Iceland and kayaking through glaciers. Cheers and thank you!

Very odd speech by the tour guide. Instead of teaching us about the actually glacier, he suggested that climate change is fake news and not impacted by human activity. Overheard the other guide stating his lack of support for Ukraine during the current war.
The beauty of the place was really amazing.

Great Unique Experience
Wasn’t sure what to expect going into this experience due to the mixed reviews. However, really ended up enjoying this experience. All gear required is provided, but bring a good set of gloves as the wind can be cold when your hands get wet. After we left it was very tranquil with no noise except our paddles. We got very close to several smaller glaciers, got to enjoy the larger ones from a safe distance, and got to meet some of the harbour seals who call the lagoon home. All in all great experience with a great guide.
