Amazing kayak experience
Found the kayaking on Heinebergslon lagoon after reading other travel blogs. Booked through Howlanders as didnt realise tour actually run by Ice Guide (would recommend booking directly with IceGuide). Clear and easy to follow meeting details. Friendly and personable guides who helped suit us up in dry suits and boots. Bring hat/gloves/layers for underneath the drysuits. Drove down to the lagoon in big 4x4 and quickly got out on the lagoon in kayaks. We had a fantastic time kayaking around the lagoon with the two guides who took us to see lots of different things and gave us a great backrgound into glaciers/icebergs etc. We were lucky to see ice cracks/caves and it was safe enough to be able to kayak into them. We also stopped and were able to get off the kayak and walk a little on the iceberg. Would highly recommend this trip and would definitely recommend travelling to Heinebergslon for it. There were only 12 of us which was so nice - felt much more unique with a small group! Will be recommending to friends!

The best lagoon
Book this kayak tour. It was magical, especially because you're not in a well-traveled area so it's a tranquil and awe-inducing experience. The guides were great- knowledgeable and fun. And they brought us through the lagoon in a fun and interesting way. We were able to get up on the ice, as well. You can always stop off at the more famous lagoon and enjoy it from the shore. But kayak here!

Vatnajökull Glacier Kayak Adventure Was Amzing
This was the best day tour we did on our entire trip. Unlike at the regular glacier lagoon, where everyone is there, this was just our group. We had the entire lagoon to ourselves. Plus the icebergs are MUCH bigger so you can akayak into them and even beach on them and walk on them. I would do this again in a second

We had originally scheduled to Kayak at Jökulsárlón but our tour had to be canceled due to bad weather and high winds. While we were extremely bummed at first, Veronika at customer service was FANTASTIC to work with at helping us quickly get rebooked for another kayak tour two days later at Heinabergslón - and we are so glad she did as it was a highlight of our trip! This tour was longer and the icebergs in this new lagoon are more stable, so we were able to not only get right up near them to kayak, but also WALK on one of them. The instructors were locals from Hofn and were extremely knowledgeable of the area, the lagoon and icebergs. We felt extremely safe in their hands and appreciated their offers to help take pictures of us during the tour. I would absolutely recommend the Iceguide tour as part of your Iceland visit!

A phenomenal experience!
Our guide Ousi was great. Very knowledgeable and kind. Shared a wealth of information about glaciers, Iceland and the changing climate. Took pictures of all of us in the lagoon, amongst the icebergs. Even introduced my boyfriend to a fellow guide who was also a rock and ice climber.... An unforgetable experience - highly recommended! (We had beautiful weather...!)

We had the best time kayaking in the glacier lagoon!! Our tour guide, Pierre, was knowledgeable and made sure we had a great time!! He pointed out recently turned glaciers and seals! Highly recommend this experience!

That's definetely one of my favourite adventures of all the icelandic companies offer.
Professional and kind guides Asi and Reynir took us on a educational but most of all absolutely hipnotizing tour among the quiet Heinabergsjokull glacier lagoon. We spent 2 hours kayaking (no stress, very mellow pace, also for beginners), also walking on one of the icebergs (they provided us with spikes). By all means: DO IT.

Great kayaking close to icebergs
Great experience, different from the tourist-aimed boat tour in the lake. One hour and half on a two-seat kayak admiring the giant icebergs, seals and the biggest European glacier. Jan was great, definitely a must-do if you go drive by the south coast.

Heinabergslón Kayak
We had a great time kayaking among the icebergs at Heinabergslón. This lake is much quieter than the more famous Jökulsárlón lagoon, as to reach it requires transport over a four wheel drive only road. We were the only group there. Luckily it was a warm, sunny, windless day so warm hats and gloves were not required and a double base layer under the dry suit was sufficient to stay warm. The pace is leisurely, so anyone can do this tour as long as you are agile enough to get in and out of a kayak. Guides Rainer and Charlotte were calm and upbeat.

We loved our glacier kayaking tour!
Our guides were knowledgeable, funny and caring. We got lots of information and a really cool tour. We even got to got inside a blue ice cave. 😃

We underestimated the fact that kayaking is physically challenging, especially in an extreme environment. We were driving quite a bit on the same day and it got a little crazy. So make reasonable decisions, but the tour won’t disappoint you at all!

Best tour of Iceland - Kayak in the glacier lagoon!
Kayaking in the glacier lagoon was honestly the most fun excursion we did during our two weeks in Iceland. It was so cool to paddle between icebergs, watch little pieces of ice fall off some of the big ones, and really experience the glacial lagoon close up. It was raining a bit when we did this, but our dry suits protected us and the rain didn't end up ruining anything! One note of caution - your hands will get *very* cold! If you like kayaking though, this is a can't miss once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

Fun fun fun. One of my top activities in Iceland
We took a kayak tour around a glacial lagoon. This was awesome! It was a beautiful day with beautiful scenery. This is in my top activities in Iceland. They provide a waterproof overall that has feet and then waterproof boots. Then a jacket. You walk for about 5 minutes to get to the kayaks. It was a sunny day so didn’t need many layers underneath. The kayaks are tandem. It’s important to follow the guide so you don’t get too close to the icebergs – we did hear a piece of one fall into the water. The guide took pictures and videos of us that he airdropped when we got back to the trailer. Great time. Wish we had longer than an hour out there.

This was a fantastic experience. The guides were entertaining and knowledgeable. One of our favorite excursions during the trip. We got to walk on the glacier and drink crystal clear water from the surface. There was a mini ice-cave we were able to kayak into and it was beautiful. The guides offered to take pictures. Would definitely do again.

Kayaks at a glacier lake.
A few weeks ago we did a kayak tour at a glacier lake. The weather was bad, so we got a chance to back out, and get a refund. Of course we didn't. Very professional guides, good explanation, a good eye for safety. Very good equipment, including the kayaks and the drysuits. We can recommend this tour to everyone. Thnx for the beautiful experience.

We did the glacier lagoon kayaking in June, the experience was amazing. We had the chance to see a seal from very close on a floating iceberg, and our guide Tryggui was very friendly and provided a lot of very interesting information on the icebergs and surrounding glaciers
