I had a water leak in my home that looked like a roofing issue, so I called a roofer first. After searching, he couldn’t find the source and suspected it might be coming from the HVAC system instead. He referred me to HVAC in LA, and I’m glad he did.
Their technician arrived super quick, inspected the system, and found the real cause: an old duct that had developed a hole over the years, causing moisture and condensation to get into the house. They repaired the damaged duct, sealed everything properly, and checked for any other weak spots.
Their professionalism and ability to diagnose what others couldn’t was extremely impressive. If you’re dealing with a roof leak and have a rooftop A/C like we do, I highly recommend HVAC in LA—they found the issue fast and fixed it right the first time.

I hired HVAC in LA to install a mini split at one of my audio recording facilities. The initial experience seemed smooth--Vahe, Ceasar, and Jacob were mostly professional during the install. However, several things happened after they left that soured the entire experience and frankly put my entire property at risk. I'll be honest and clear about what went sideways here:
1. They left trash from their Jersey Mike's lunch in my yard, moved my picnic table, then didn't return it to its original place.
2. While spray-painting a metal cover for the pipework, they left the studio door open. I had to intervene to prevent the aerosol fumes from overwhelming the space during the second coat, even after asking them to shut the door.
3. They chipped a corner of my recently installed solid-core redwood door.
4. They asked whether the AC circuit was dedicated. I said yes--it was designed to be--but they didn't verify it themselves. That turned out to be a critical oversight.
5. When the job was done, I shook Vahe's hand. When I went to shake Ceasar's, he turned and walked away. That gut feeling instantly told me something was wrong...and that turned out to be correct.
6. After they left, none of my studio gear worked--only the AC had power. No breakers were tripped.
I started freaking out but also took a moment to asses the situation: I sent photos of my main and sub panel to several professionals who do contractor work, electrical, and top-level studio fabrication. Five out of five responses I sent out were alarmed and urgent replies: "Turn this off now, this could be dangerous." I shut everything down and called in a licensed electrician the next morning.
That electrician discovered the AC had not been installed on a properly isolated circuit, despite one being available. Had they simply tested the outlets inside, they would've caught the issue. But they didn't. And Jacob really doubled down blaming everyone else but him and the crew initially.
Once the licensed electrician fixed it, everything worked as intended.
AC is now on its own circuit, and my studio power is back. Great. Few hundred bucks and we are set. The electrician did let me know though, that simply spending some time testing could've brought this situation to their attention.
While I still had the electrician here, I called Jacob to calmly walk through what they did the day before...I wasn't accusatory--just trying to get answers while the electrician was present so we all could feel comfortable about moving onto our normal duties for the day.
Jacob did help troubleshoot a bit, but mainly got defensive. He brought up irrelevant details like how they wrapped things with plastic indoors--ignoring the real issue: unsafe electrical work.
When I asked if he'd split the cost of the electrician, he hesitated, defended his team, then eventually sent me half. To me, that's an acknowledgment of their mistake. But after sending the money, Jacob said things like "I would've come out if you'd called" and "I'm super offended you didn't trust me." He never offered to come by until after the refund--an hour and some change into our call. I work in the entertainment industry, I deal with people who talk the talk but do not walk the walk, and the conversation I was having with him certainly started to sound those alarms in my head.
Ultimately, this was a job that could have been excellent. But it ended in corner-cutting, deflection, and a dangerously mishandled electrical install. I paid top dollar and expected top-tier professionalism. I hope the AC works as expected for a long time though!
A few more points:
* Their contract has a clause (currently clause 5) that waives all liability for damage and makes the client (me) responsible for protecting everything on the job site. I should've pushed back on this. It's a red flag and, in my opinion, signals a lack of accountability from them.
* I highly doubt I'll ever get the warranty support that claimed to come with this after this experience. I'll simply ave to get in touch directly with Mitsubishi.
* I can't shake the feeling that Ceasar walking away without a handshake was him knowingly leaving me to discover the issue on my own.
If you hire them, insist on thorough testing of circuits, double-check all electrical work, and reconsider signing a contract that waives all contractor responsibility! And pay them AFTER you've checked that. I was being a bit whimsy with it, because I figured paying nearly 6k for installing a unit that barely costs 1.5k was going to leave me with the peace of mind. Certainly did not get that. I may very well now though, but after quite a day figuring this out.
All in all, I'm glad nothing was damaged, but extremely unimpressed with this company's ability to account for their mistakes and rectify it without me standing on business extra firm and having to eventually raise my voice on the phone. Kind of insane honestly. Regards, Charles

We should have triple checked and verified that the electrical line the previous electrician installed was truly dedicated for our installation - rather than relying on verbal confirmation. That was our responsibility, and I completely understand your frustration and concern.
In retrospect, I wish I had offered to come by in person sooner, and I take full accountability for not offering that right away. I spent almost an hour with you and the electrician on the phone to resolve the situation immediately - the moment you made me aware of it and called. I also offered to bring my electrician over to verify that everything was remedied properly. I truly was trying to understand the situation and work through it with you during our call — not to deflect or become defensive. My intent was to make things right and in good faith I tried to remedy the experience with the refund - If that’s not enough please let me know.
