From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the thoughtful decoration of the room. It felt warm, elegant, and intentionally designed, rustic touches blended with comfort in a way that made it feel both connected to nature and beautifully curated. Waking up surrounded by so much greenery, birds, and fresh mountain air was restorative in a way that’s hard to describe. The property itself is stunning, lush, peaceful, and perfectly integrated into the landscape.
The staff were consistently kind and attentive. Everyone made us feel genuinely welcome, not just as guests passing through, but as people they cared about having a good experience.
But the true highlight of our stay deserves special recognition: the food.
My husband and I are vegan, and while many hotels kindly “accommodate” that, it often means something improvised or bland. That was absolutely not the case here. Chef Leidy went far beyond accommodating us, she created dishes that felt like they came from a five-star restaurant. Every single meal was thoughtful, beautifully presented, full of flavor, and clearly prepared with intention. There was no sense of substitution or limitation,just creativity, care, and culinary skill.
That level of attention made us feel deeply welcomed and genuinely cared for. It wasn’t just about meeting a dietary need; it was about honoring it with excellence.
Kawa Bamboo gave us nature, beauty, and tranquility but Chef Leidy’s food is what made the experience unforgettable. We would return in a heartbeat.
A wonderful experience at the Kawa Retreat. The views, the staff, the services all wonderful. I’m glad we visited during the wet season as the mists and cloud cover made the views even more spectacular. Hummingbirds visited the balcony on one occasion, beautiful. The hotel staff communicated highly effectively and organised our airport transfers as well as our excursions which we thoroughly enjoyed.

I had an incredible experience at Kawa Bamboo Retreat in Cerritos. The place is beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by nature—perfect for relaxing and disconnecting. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, with a unique bamboo vibe that makes it feel like a true retreat.
The staff was extremely kind and attentive, always making sure everything was perfect. The atmosphere is calm, the property is well maintained, and it’s a great spot to recharge. We had a wonderful stay at Kawa Bamboo Retreat. The resort itself is beautiful, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed, with excellent facilities that make it easy to relax and truly enjoy the surroundings and the sense of being in nature. After a five-day hike in Los Nevados, it was especially meaningful to arrive at a place where we still felt connected to nature during our stay.
What really made the experience stand out was the staff. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel at home, showing genuine care, flexibility, and a constant willingness to help with anything we needed. Their warmth and attentiveness created a very special atmosphere and made our stay feel personal rather than just another hotel visit.
We felt welcomed, supported, and completely at ease throughout our time there. Highly recommended, and we would happily return.
L'hôtel est incroyable, les chambres sont magnifiques et cosys. On se sent vraiment au milieu de la nature avec le systême d'aération naturel (l'arbre dans la chambre). Ça a été génial de se détendre dans la piscine en profitant du soleil, de la nature et du chant des oiseaux.
Le restaurant est excellent et propose une bonne variété d'options végétariennes. Le petit déjeuner est également très bon avec une grande variété de fruits locaux.
Nous avons également pu essayer la formule de massage de 50 min qui s'est révélé être une session de détente incroyable dans la petite construction magnifique en guadua.
Le personnel est extrêmement aimable, sympathique et disponible pour toute demande.
Ce petit cocon de nature est parfait pour se reposer et se détendre entre 2 visites de l'Eje cafetero.
Hotel excelente con vistas increíbles, habitaciones con mucho estilo y personal muy acogedor y agradable.
Sin embargo, hay unos aspectos que necesitan algunas mejoras:
1) La ruta para llegar puede ser aguantada SOLO por los coches 4×4. El hotel nos había dicho que se podía acceder y, por lo tanto, hemos tenido problemas con nuestro coche de tipo automóvil urbano cuando llegamos. Para este tipo de coche, lo mejor es aparcarse en el aparcamiento del mirador que está justo a 7 minutos a pie del hotel.
2) El desayuno podría ser más abundante y, sobre todo, más rápido. 3) Nuestra cabaña no tenía calefacción y, por lo tanto, era bastante fría. Nos han proporcionado un calentador eléctrico pero la habitación se quedó bastante fría.
4) Nuestra cabaña tenía, en teoría, una bañadora de tipo jacuzzi, pero, en la realidad, el agua (después de una hora) no era muy caliente y las burbujas típicas de un jacuzzi nunca les he visto. Al revés, el jacuzzi en frente del salón común es una maravilla.
Para concluir, creo que Kawa es un hotel que tiene buen potencial, pero hay muchos pequeños detalles que necesitan ser mejorados sobre todo para cumplir con una buena relación calidad-precio.
What a beautiful hotel! Although they are quite new, everything is exceptionally well organized. The staff is incredibly friendly and truly go above and beyond to make your stay unforgettable. And the chef is outstanding — the food was absolutely amazing. We would definitely come back!
We loved our stay at Kawa Retreat. The views are incredible, the breakfast was delicious, and the hot tub was a real treat - easy to book and very relaxing. The staff were all wonderful, especially the reception team who went above and beyond to make our stay special. There’s a nice walk through the woods into town, and the hotel’s complimentary 9pm taxi pickup made getting back effortless.

Definitivamente, lo que mas sobresale del hotel es el restaurante. La comida es absolutamente deliciosa. Una mezcla de sabores colombianos bastante única. La chef es espectacular. Vale la pena venir solamente por la comida, muy recomendada!!!
Nosotros nos quedamos una noche y disfrutamos nuestra estadía. Las habitaciones son amplias y muy cómodas.
El único detalle fue que en la noche pedimos un coctel y una gaseosa, los cuales se demoraron alrededor de 40m. Al parecer uno de los meseros no fue y la única mesera que había no alcanzaba a cubrir a todos los clientes. Al final nos dieron las bebidas gratis, pero es importante garantizar que hay los meseros suficientes para atender a los clientes y garantizar un buen tiempo de servicio.

My room was big, spotless and comfortable with stunning views from the balcony that made waking up each morning feel like a gift. The entire property had this calming, restorative energy whether you were relaxing in the common breakfast area, exploring the surroundings or enjoying the spa.
Every detail, from the fresh fruits and food at breakfast to the service and the ambience, made my stay exceptional. I left feeling refreshed and already thinking about when I can return. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature.
It was a really lovely stay overall- really picturesque setting and lovely staff (especially reception who made our stay so lovely!). A few things to note:
- don’t book the room without the mountain view, it was incredibly noisy in the morning and you really could have been in any basic hotel. Noted it was around £100 cheaper so makes sense, but I wouldn’t recommend staying if you’re not getting the room with the view. We did stay one night in a nicer cabin with the view which was lovely.
- the food at the restaurant for dinner tries to be gourmet, and is very expensive for the portions you get. I recommend eating in town instead. The vegetarian options were ok but we had a lot better in town for a lot less money.
- the highlight of the stay is definitely Claudia- the massages she provided were absolutely incredible- HIGHLY recommend her. She was patient, professional and the pressure was amazing. I ended up getting 2!
I think overall it’s a beautiful setting and not too far from town.
