Well equipped and clean sailing yacht, as advertised. Company provides prompt assistance in case of a problem. Elin Sandberg was our highly skilled instructor and did an excellent job teaching our family of 5 how to sail and skipper, resulting in a truly memorable experience.

Not my favorite charter company. Poor communication prior to the trip and no follow-up after. Hired skipper was a good sailor, but we were experienced and there to sail; having him do everything detracted from the enjoyment. Also skipper was not a very good communicator; getting the plan for the day was always a challenge. Boat itself was not as good as other cruisers I have chartered. Poorly designed with small rooms and bunks (like sleeping in a coffin was the assessment of 1 person on the trip). Very little storage space for clothes, bags and even food. Would definitely not use this company again.

Great service on well kept boats. We've chartered here several times and are planning our next charter now. Horizon has responded quickly on the rare occasions we needed assistance. Office staff and dock crew are always very efficient and friendly to work with. The video boat briefings they now provide are a nice plus.

Tuvimos una muy buena experiencia con Horizons. Todo muy bien con el catamarán Lagoon 51, Slinky Malinski sin patrón y buen servicio. El catamarán tiene potabilizara de agua que ayuda muchísimo ya que no hace falta cargar agua. El barco está en muy buenas condiciones y es muy cómodo.

Our family just concluded our first charter and Horizon provided an excellent experience. Being new to the process, Abbie and team provided impeccable customer service and were so helpful in answering my questions. Our boat was in excellent condition and our captain Bethany was knowledgeable and fun. She recommended a great itinerary, was flexible with our requests, and had excellent restaurant recommendations.

HYC came highly recommended by locals I met while obtaining my ASA certifications for Bareboat chartering. My previous experience had only been with the large corporate entity that makes you feel like they are doing YOU a favor.
The exact opposite can be said about HYC. Their fleet is kept in immaculate condition, the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and they respond to all inquiries with haste.
I had the pleasure of sailing Hakuna Matata IV and it was indeed a worry free experience. I am already booking return trips to BVI and plan to charter with HYC wherever they have a base.
DO NOT look elsewhere for your charter needs. HYC is the only charter company one should consider where they have a base.

Bareboat Charter in Antigua
Can't say enough about our experience with HYC and Rhys Warwick in particular. We wanted to charter in Antigua but were having trouble finding a reliable yet affordable charter. While I can't say that the boat we finally wound up with was particularly reliable as it was a bit older, Rhys was instrumental in helping us navigate the process and then checking in to make sure everything was, well manageable at least. I can now say that it is worthwhile for me to charter a newer boat, and I am certainly sold on using HYC wherever I go in the future.

Having bareboat chartered sailboats through a variety of the main charter companies in the Carribean for a span of 30 years, we - for the first time - chartered through Horizon Yacht Charters, in January of 2026. We selected a 50' catamaran which had 3 years of chartering with Horizon Yachts. With a family group of 13 on-board, we were thrilled with the entire experience. We had an issue with the dinghy whiled moored at Marina Cay and they brought us a replacement the same day so as not to interfere with our trip.

Great captain and charter experience from start to finish - 7 days BVI NYE trip
We just returned from an incredible 7-day NYE trip in BVI on Detour - an FP Elba 45. I wanted to thank our wonderful captain Wallace (Junior) Leonard, who showed us some new spots around the islands and became a new friend to us all on day 1. I highly recommend him for any of your upcoming charters.For the boat itself: Wanted to say thank you to Horizon Yacht Charters BVI for the great service all the way through. Can't recommend them enough. The boat Detour was a great home away from home. Great trip aboard a 40 foot bareboat cat.
We had a great bareboat trip abord Cloudwalker, a 40 ft Lagoon Cat. The boat performed well other than a few breaker trips which is totally normal. The separate refrigerator and freezer served us well. The water maker is a game changer, as this was the first time we had one. We have chartered 12+ times, and Horizon is our go to group. Their staff is consistent, with many of them being there since our first charter in 2007. The location is also great, and the marina has everything you need on site. I highly recommend.

Perfect Christmas week charter
Family of 4 chartered a 46’ cat sailboat the Cadenza for Christmas week. Captain and chef. Agenda objectives were minimal. Be on the water. Explore a bit. Visit some islands. Snorkeling. Captain Royce set up an efficient itinerary, adjusting gracefully to conditions as needed. Chef Marlyn cooked up 3 square meals per day plus day snacks served on board. The food was restaurant quality, healthier, and easier. We were comfortable on the Cadenza. The college aged kids bunked in one cabin, parents in another. Cook and chef in cabins 3 and 4. Weather was spectacular. The captain was a good guide on history, social aspects of each island, the wildlife. We visited 6-7 islands and snorkels every day. The prep and set up with the Horizons office staff was thorough. They were responsive to every inquiry and clarification request. I’ll use them again in the BVIs.

Barefoot Bliss Lives Up To Its Name
The team of Captain Cam and First Mate Sam spoiled us rotten. Which was not easy with a family of voracious teens to crusty octogenarians. Capt. Cam mapped out an optimal route through the many gorgeous islands of the BVI with good humor and calm aplomb, and Sam made me gain a couple of pounds with her pretty, scrumptious meals. The finest family vacation ever!

Chartered a Nautitech 44 Open in November 2025. The whole process with Horizon was flawless. Boat was spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The staff are excellent with a ton of experience on all the boats and deep knowledge of the islands. Booking, boat briefing, chart advise, and technical support were all great.
Small thing, we ran out of propane for the barbeque, I called support to ask if there was a spare on the boat that I missed. Nope there wasn't. But, Horizon insisted that they will send one to us and meet us at our next mooring. Awesome service.
The Nautitech 44 was a joy to sail. We easily hit 8-9 knots without really trying hard. Only thing that would make it better would be a mast camera to give better visibility when mooring or docking. We loved the standup bar in the saloon.
We have been to the BVIs many times. First time with Horizon and we will definitely charter with them again.
