Feels like they build a good community with their junior coaching and young adults, but management honestly don't care about and show no respect for other casuals and regulars who show up every week.
There is no communication channel to warn general members about events that will block court availability. Apparently they have this information in their junior comms via email or similar, which they refuse to send to us. Two days in a row we show up and they have an event on with no notice. Some of us live a 30 minute drive away. The first day we managed to get some time on the court (up to an hour), after which we got turned away. One of the trainers there showed a significant lack in empathy in turning us away, telling us to get off the court, "bye bye go home" - no apology, no nothing.
We explicitly asked them if they had anything on during the second day, they confirmed the courts were "free all day", yet we were still turned away when we arrived.
This isn't the first time something like this has happened.
Because this is the only walk-in basketball gym in Auckland, it feels like they know they have a monopoly and just don't care. I will gladly update my rating if they fix their communication, but right now, the customer service for regulars is highly disappointing.

You are right man, we let you down on this one - Usually we try to send an email and post on the stories but we have slipped up in the past and this weekend was a big error... me (as management) miscommunicated with my staff leading to the wrong information going up. Its not that we dont respect you.. quite the opposite! A huge part of our philosophy and our drive since starting 5yrs ago is that accessibility for specifically ballers like yourself as well as the development of our youth... and we are always struggling trying to find that balance between keeping the court open for casual use as well as being able to utilise it for the programs. We are pushing to hopefully one day have 2+ courts which can solve this issue but until then this is the balancing act we face.
We have alot of moving parts happening in the business and our system for communication - you are absolutely right - is not good enough yet. Appreciate the feedback 🙏 - we will work on things and hope we can prove it you soon.

My son recently joined this basketball program, and we are very impressed. The reception team is always friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and the coaches are fantastic. A special thank you to Coach Alex for his positive encouragement and dedication to the kids.
What I love most is that they teach more than basketball. They promote important values like honesty, fair play, respect, teamwork, and self-confidence, while encouraging children to focus on their own growth rather than comparing themselves to others.
A wonderful program with great people and a positive environment. Highly recommended!
Just joined yesterday and had my first workout today — I absolutely love it! The atmosphere is welcoming, the gym is clean, and everything feels motivating. I already feel excited to come back. So glad I signed up!

Hoop33 has been such a relief for me as a parent of a teen. My son was pretty unconfident and unhappy throughout his year 9 & 10 years, but always had a love for basketball. A few months ago he started training sessions 4-5 times a week. Not only did his game improve but he is so much more confident in himself and much happier overall. He’s set himself some pretty lofty goals and I’m confident he’s in the best place to achieve these with the supportive crew at Hoop33. Thank you so much guys!!
Started here a year ago in the women's build and burn program. Its been fun getting back into fitness surrounded by like minded Women, great instructors and facilities.

I joined 33 about 2-3 years ago and I really loved every moment of being in this place. Very disappointed that I had to move away as no other gym has given me the feeling of community that this gym has. The people there are amazing, both staff and other gym goers. The equipment isn’t old or neglected like a lot of other places as well as new additions to the gym every couple months or so always giving it a new feeling. Also Stephen is an amazing trainer, teacher and is just a very calm mannered person to talk too especially if looking for advice on something, he’s always willing to help when possible or just down for a chat.
Really hope to return to this gym someday as it will always have its place in my heart as the best gym I’ve ever stopped foot in.
