Beware, Honest Overhead Door are not honest . Asked for a quote , never stated they would charge for me for an estimate, most garage door companies offer free estimates. I was looking to get 2 springs replaced and their quote came in at almost $900.00!. This company uses high pressure sales tactics and higher estimates by double then the other company I had out. When I said I will go with the other company because they are half the price Cassandra called me witihin 5 mins later to offer me $200.00 off if I approve the work now and states the offer will no longer be valid once they leave, I still denied because is was still $250.00 more then the other company. When I decided not to go with their bid they were fast to send me a bill for $49.00 never informing me of this fee. I am a very business oriented person, and rely on trust, honestly and integrity. This company is using Deceptive business practices. Then blackmailing me, saying if I leave a bad review they will leave a bad review on my business profile. I am in the process of pursuing legal action for defamation of character and will be filing a claim with the State of Texas for deceptive bussiness practices. I dont want anyone to have the horrible experience over $49.00. This company is out to get your last penny.
Beware, you will be charged $49.00 for an estimate, and they don’t disclose this when you call. They were the highest estimate I received and tried to pressure me with “this price is only available now” it won’t be offered later. Not an honest company. They wanted over $800.00 to install springs!

Hi Mary, this is Kassandra (the lady who answers all of the calls here). We received a call from you stating that someone quoted you a repair that you were happy with the price of but not the speed at which they could complete the job and wanted someone to be able to fix it immediately and since we could do that we booked you for a service call (an appointment that would include fixing the door), this appointment does cost $49. However we do wave that fee for same day service and even have a 7 day grace period where we can apply that fee to the cost of repair as we do not like wasting money. If you only wanted a quote I could have verbally gave you a range of cost quote.
Upon our technician arriving he quoted you for a full torsion conversion as you currently have an outdated extension spring system on an old heavy wood door. This service includes bringing the safety and reliability of the door up to date and also includes the springs, torsion tube, head plates, center plate, bearings, cables, drums, and all necessary hardware, not just springs. You also wanted him to install an opener that you were providing at which we charge $349 to do, but he gave you a discount of $100 off since he was already there to do the original service. You let us know that you are “selling the house and want the cheapest fix and the new owners can take responsibility to properly repair the old deteriorating wood doors.” The manager and myself called you to touch base and see if we could provide any additional pricing help and come to a price point that everyone could be okay with. However I did let you know that extra discount was only good for that day as I couldn’t honor it if I had to send that tech out again. You stated you didn’t like the push and did not want any services from us. This then costs $49. I do apologize that we were not within your budget and I do hope you are able to find the right company to fix this door.

Great service. We had new springs, rollers, cables, and a new door opener unit installed. Chris and Cassandra were responsive and quickly came to our rescue. I can recommend Honest Garage Door without reservations.
