Recently just hired a fresh helper from Homekeeper, served by Josephine. She is very professional, helpful and patient in guiding us through the interview and hiring process. She listens to our needs, provide us profiles that matches our requirements for selection, assisted us during the interviews and accommodate to our availability. Although there are some hiccups during the interview process, but she manages it well by giving us prompt updates on the situation. Highly recommended for employer who are looking to hire helper, look for Josephine and she can definitely help you in getting the help you need.
Sharing my recent experience in hopes that it helps other families exercise extra caution when hiring a helper (Filipino).
Our helper arrived on 16 April and absconded on 17 May (her off day) shortly after receiving her first salary. We later found out she had ran off to Malaysia for other employment. As a family with a newborn at home, this was a very stressful and disruptive experience for us, especially after spending significant amounts on placement-related fees.
I want to mention that our agent, Magie, was personally very helpful and responsive throughout the situation, and I appreciate her support and professionalism during a difficult time.
That said, I do hope the agency management will seriously reconsider the refund arrangement given the extremely short placement duration and circumstances involved. Families engage agencies in good faith and rely heavily on the screening and matching process, especially during vulnerable periods like postpartum recovery and childcare.
I totally agree with some of the negative reviews here. It’s really unacceptable that the agency isn't properly screening the helpers coming in.
My helper doesn’t even practice the simplest thing, which is basic hand hygiene—handling raw food without washing her hands. Thaw seafood days before and place it back in the normal fridge before cooking them. Rinsing raw fish and putting the remaining piece back into the freezer after cutting some out. Even being outside is cleaner than being at home, feet is always black after coming back.
I think this is beyond ridiculous, i have a toddler with me and she’s been preparing his meals and cleaning our room. What on earth is the training centre even teaching? And yet you guys employ such an unprofessional person for us?
Not trying to be difficult here but all these are basic skills that they should know before coming in. And as a maid agency, you should be doing a proper job in screening them and making sure they have all the basic knowledge.
My sincere thanks to Ms Esther Loh, Branch Sales Manager,Homekeeper Maid Agency, amk branch, for her great help, in emailing MOM, to request for a telephone video interview, for my helper. I got a reply from MOM, the very next day, to arrange, for the mentioned interview. I feel very grateful to Esther for her prompt n professional service despite her very tight work schedule due to manpower shortage. She is also very patient and understanding. Keep up the good job!
Was searching for a helper that could take care of infant. Came across homekeeper and glad that the process of application is smooth.
Avery is extremely helpful and patient in explaining the process. Glad to have my helper from Homekeeper
Edit: the above comments still valid but just edited the ratings because of a recent bad experience of my helper from here. Still in the midst of getting a replacement helper so hope this process will be smooth
