We hadn't moved in 34 years so we were stressed just thinking about what was to come. But the minute we met Mike, from Homegrown Moving, for our estimate, we knew we were in good hands. Communication was great. On moving day two trucks and a four man crew (Pedro, Jonah, Daniel and Miguel) arrived on time ready to work. They were all professional, friendly and extremely hard workers. By late afternoon everything we owned was moved and placed where we wanted it in our new home. The crew handled all of our possessions with great care and made what could have been a very stressful day into a very positive experience. Thank you Homegrown!!

They took extra care to make sure all items were safe and secure. They did everything I requested, and were very very professional. What a disaster!!! Movers broke two prized art pieces (only were willing to give us a credit of $400 for these priceless pieces), treated our prior home like a dumping ground for their trash and debris with half eaten candy, soda cans, water bottles strewn all over the home. Calls, pictures, texts to the owner, Toby went unanswered as well as salesperson, Mike. Homegrown Moving Company only cares about getting paid, they have no care for your personal property which was evident in the art pieces that they simply threw a blanket over, no bubble wrap, NOTHING. They will do NOTHING to soothe the pain they cause to your personal property nor your home. Stay away, beware. Do not trust the 4.5 rating as factual. We cannot be the only customers that they have failed miserably. The lack of accountability is absolutely unreal. Not sure how a business that treats their clients this way has much of a future. Overpriced to boot, charging us nearly 50% more than the original quote... just another of the many complaints we have about Homegrown Moving Company. They DO NOT put the customer first and do not care how your belongings arrive as the damage was evident on multiple items!

Wow, 2.0. We did lower the price of the final bill for breaking the items you had mentioned. After moving the contents of your 7000' home mostly without incident, the move went pretty well, not perfect. As you and your husband had to agreed to in the initial estimate, we do charge at the end of each day on moves that last more than 1 day. There were no harassing calls for payment but more of you not wanting to pay for the move at all. We actually do care very much about our process and how we do but I also realize that no matter what, some people are never going to be satisfied. I spoke with you personally and mostly listened while you berated our guys with all of the trash they had left behind and how they didn't do back flips for you.
The reason the bill was 36% higher was because your husband kept adding more packing/supplies/more items to do which of course take more time. We are glad to do the additional items that the customer requests, of course this adds more time and cost to the overall move. I've always found that I get better results by being decent and treating people with respect. With all of your advanced degrees that you and your husband like to mention, I learned those basic principals in Kindergarten. Toby

My husband and I just kept running into problems with Home Grown. We originally scheduled to have the movers arrive at our home at 9 and put down the down payment. A few days later they called my husband telling us that they are short on movers that weekend because they approved too much time off (not really our problem when we already put a down payment down for a specific time) and they needed to move us back to 11/11:30. Not great. However they said they would be able to give us a bigger truck at no extra cost. The movers didn’t show up until 12:15 with a smaller truck. So over 3 hours from what we requested and were originally promised. There was a new guy working and he was not careful with our furniture or boxes. Him and the other mover had just met that day and it was obvious they didn’t jive. I feel like if they would’ve had a better game plan they would have organized the truck better (cause our stuff was not fitting, wouldn’t have been a problem if they gave us the bigger truck) and a plan to unload the truck. So of course we have to pay whatever time they go over. Lastly, after we’re all done, they hand the phone over to my husband and ask how everything went and if we wanted to leave a tip as the movers were right in front of us. What are we supposed to say? Bad process. And unfortunately we didn’t notice the rippled couch cushion or scratched furniture until we were organizing our new apartment.
I will say, Daniel, I believe his name is, was really great. We could tell he was hustling and was much more careful than the other guy.

I personally spoke with your husband Parker to re schedule the later start to your move and he seemed fine with it. With respect with us only being able to send out a small truck, it was a super busy day and we really did the best with what resources we had that day. We really strive to do things right all of the time and we were a little on the day of your move.
With respect to asking you how we did at the end of the move, we really DO care about the our performance so we do ask how was your customer experience upon completion of the move. If we didn't care, we wouldn't ask how your experience was with our company. Also, most of our customers do prefer to leave a tip for our crew on their credit cards so we just figure it is better to give them that option (if they prefer to tip or not) when we are finalizing the bill. I wish you or Parker would have reached out to us after your move to tell us about how your move really went that day and that there were damages that the guys caused in an effort to make things right. Sorry you had a bad experience.

Homegrown Movers are awesome. Mike answers the phone when you call and sets everything up personally with great customer service and attention. You can personally reach him be phone or text anytime. Our move was complicated because part of the house going to an apartment and part to a new house. Daniel, Pedro, Trent, Daniel Jr., and Emmanuel were amazing !!! They were professional, friendly, super helpful and such hard workers. They worked so hard to make sure everything went to the right place and was wrapped and packed for storage. This is my second move with Homegrown and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my move!!!

My crew of James, Chris, and Eli really made the experience even better.
