We booked transportation to and from the airport and cannot recommend Hire Taxi enough! Booking was seamless and easy to put in all of our details for pickup and drop off. Kevin was our driver for both trips and we loved his energy and getting to know him and life in Japan. He was on time, helped us with our bags, and very friendly. If I could give them 10 stars it would not be enough! We spent 10 days touring Japan first with Rue as a driver and then with Kenny and I cannot recommend them highly enough. We had a comfortable car taht gave us ample room to stretch our legs from city to city. We wanted to see as much of Japan as possible but did not want to drive. We got so much more than drivers!!!
At the onset the owner (Daniel) was very responsive in setting up our tour even though there is a 12 hour difference between us. A minor hiccup was that we did not realize we would have more than one driver for the different parts of our tour of Japan, so it caused a bit of a panic on the first day, when our driver Rue for was not aware of the remainder off the journey. We were not told we would have 4 drivers. But Daniel immediately contacted us and we realized we were in good hands and the trip was simplified in that Kenny stayed on and we had only two drivers.
Both Rue and Kenny (our drivers) were exceptional—they became trusted guides, a valuable resource into Japanese culture and friends during our travels. They were always punctual, professional, courteous, helpful with our luggage and other logistics as we moved from one hotel to another, and they were always attentive to our needs. Photo is of Kenny dropping us off at the train station after expertly navigating the logistics to meet our train. What impressed us most was their ability to adapt our plans when weather conditions changed, suggesting alternative destinations and experiences that often became highlights of our trip.
Both Rue and Kenny had knowledge of the areas we visited, and made thoughtful recommendations, and demonstrated a genuine desire to ensure we had the best possible experience which made our visit to Japan unforgettable! We always felt safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
Kenny became "family" and joined us in our activities even. By the end of our journey, we felt we had gained not only exceptional drivers but also friends. Our time in Japan was enriched because of these two drivers and we are most happy we hired HireTaxiJapan. We will visit Japan again and will gladly hire them. Even for a short trip, try them you will not be disappointed.

My travel company had to rearrange my flight due to the situation in the middle East. I was booked into a hotel 90 minutes drive from Haneda Airport in Tokyo but my transfer to the airport had not been arranged. I contacted Hire Company Japan and explained that I needed assistance to get to the airport as I am disabled and could not do the journey alone. Sakura was the gentleman who handled my booking, he was very patient and actually filled out the booking request for me as I was struggling to do it on line.The driver arrived promptly at the arranged time and I was transferred to the airport in a very comfortable and clean vehicle. The driver was very professional and helpful. Thank you to Hire Taxi Japan for solving my transfer problem so effectively. I highly recommend them to anyone travelling in Japan.

Avoid HireTaxiJapan.
I was quoted ¥45,000 for a transfer from Park Hyatt Tokyo to Gora Kadan Fuji for 3 passengers with luggage. The company sent me a written booking confirmation with all trip details clearly listed and even generated a payment link for the reservation.
Less than 24 hours later, when I followed up regarding payment, the price suddenly changed to ¥90,000 for the exact same trip.
Nothing about the booking had changed. Same route, same passengers, same luggage, same timing. The only thing that changed was the price after the booking had already been confirmed.
When I questioned how the price could suddenly double after confirmation, I was later told the earlier confirmation had supposedly been generated by their “AI system,” despite the fact that they had already created a payment link tied to the reservation and engaged in multiple communication on WhatsApp.
After I mentioned I planned to publicly share my experience, I also received warnings about potential legal action and defamation claims regarding reviews.
As an international traveler visiting Japan, I found this experience extremely misleading and unprofessional. Japan is known for honesty and reliability, which made this even more disappointing.
I have screenshots documenting the original ¥45,000 confirmation, the payment link, the later ¥90,000 demand, and the messages that followed.
Travelers should be very cautious and keep detailed written records when dealing with this company.

Excellent company. The original taxi had an accident and could not arrive at the estimated time, but they quickly sent us a new taxi and fully covered the total cost. The airport pick-up for my family was a total disaster. The driver was incredibly lazy and refused to help with the luggage. To make matters worse, he actually FORGOT where he parked his car! We wasted over 30 minutes just wandering around the airport. This delay messed up our entire schedule for the day. Highly NOT recommended.

Booked a taxi to pick us up from Haneda and take us to a hotel in Tokyo. I paid extra for a driver to meet us with a sign. Had good communication from the company beforehand but the driver was not present in the arrivals area when we got through customs. We had to wait 25 minutes for him to appear. Wish that I had not spent the money on hiring a taxi to meet us.
