Melissa is a godsend. The fascia release technique she uses to eliminate pain from the body is absolutely cutting edge. She is able to release tightness and scar tissue like I've never experienced. I had pain in my ribs and hip. In 2 sessions I have no pain in either area! I highly recommend her. We are so lucky she chose Meeker to practice her healing wonders!

I feel very comfortable sharing my needs and working with her. Overall, Melissa is an exceptionally skilled therapist and a pleasure to work with. There is a huge difference between a commercial massage and a massage therapist. While I’ve had commercial massages, I had my first experience with a Licensed Massage Therapist yesterday. Believe me, there IS a difference. Commercial massage basically pretty much sells services while the massage therapist sells you better health. Melissa Derbyshire at the Massage Cottage is very pleasant and knowledgeable about her craft. She explained everything about what I can expect from using massage therapy. I was very comfortable with her and she did an excellent job relieving the pain I have. She explained what she discovered during the massage and is assisting me in making the changes I need to be healthier. The best part of the experience is I felt 100% relaxed, which sometimes is difficult for me. Whether you have an issue you need help with or just want a relaxing atmosphere, please give The Massage Cottage and Ms. Derbyshire a call. I promise you won’t regret it.

Melissa was great and very thorough. I explained where my pain was and what caused it. She quickly came up with a plan. I was pleasantly surprised since I’ve only been to more traditional massage therapy in the past. She said her goal was to have me leave pain free and she achieved this goal.

This woman has helped me through my most challenging physical health struggles. From severe back pain in pregnancy to muscle aches, joint pain, and fatigue from a flare of my chronic condition. When I found out I was pregnant one of my first thoughts was “oh! I’ll need to see Melissa to keep my back pain away!!” I originally saw her in Galveston and feel so spoiled to have her a stones throw away from me now! :) She is such a talented and an effective massage therapist. In addition to that, she is a calming and trustworthy presence that has helped me heal from past traumas with safe healing touch.

Such a cozy and welcoming location in Bacliff, Melissa's place has a warm and relaxing vibe. She is everything you would want in a holistic massage professional: she is very tuned in to your body and how it has reacted to injury, stress or trauma over a lifetime. She is thorough, honest and very easy to talk to. I just loved my experience with her on Jan 10th, 2024 and I will be back in about 10 days.

Going to the massage cottage was the best decision to make! Upon arrival, I was greeted politely and we went over my intake forms. Every area of concern was discussed and a plan of treatment was made. My massage was the best massage I've ever received!
