Having not driven properly since I passed my test 13 years ago I was pretty nervous but doing some refreshers with Gary has really boosted my confidence. He threw me straight in there which is exactly what I needed. His confidence helped to put me at ease and I’m happy to be back on the road! EDIT- I did a motorway refresher lesson with Gary last weekend which went really well! Again his relaxed teaching style helps put you at ease. I recommend anyone wanting to learn to drive to take lessons with Gary 😊

Thank you to Mo for being, genuinely, the best driving instructor. From my first lesson until I passed my test, Mo struck the perfect balance between being incredibly knowledgeable and exceptionally patient. His expertise is clear in the way he explains things: with great clarity, great attention to detail, and tailored to you, so everything really clicks. No question ever felt too small or too repetitive, and Mo always took the time to make sure I understood not just what to do, but why. What I think sets Mo apart though, is his patience. He created a calm and supportive environment where things never felt overwhelming. He is endlessly encouraging and genuinely cares about your progress, confidence, and enjoyment of learning to drive. Mo also doesn't just teach you how to pass a driving test, he teaches you how to be a safe, thoughtful, and capable driver. He also really understands how to support learners through the process of learning a new skill like driving, while helping you feel confident and prepared for your exam. His teaching goes beyond the technical side of driving; he helps you build confidence, manage nerves, and trust your own ability. He also empowers you in your learning by involving you in lessons, asking what you want to focus on, and making sure you recognise and celebrate your progress. On top of all of that, Mo is kind, funny, and makes every lesson enjoyable. I always felt at ease, and came away from lessons smiling, which says a lot about the experience he creates. I am incredibly grateful for Mo's guidance and support throughout the whole process, and I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone learning to drive.

Started with Herne Hill driving school in may , had to change driving instructors by August then I ended up having Mohamed as my driving instructor & it was the best decision ever as he helped me to pass. He helped me to improve on so many things , he let me learn from my own mistakes , so I knew what to do for next time , so advice for anyone that’s going for Herne Hill driving school he would be a major help to you as your instructor.

In such a short time Lance has been able to prepare me for my driving test and I was able to pass first time with him as my instructor😁. His diligent teachings of always making sure you drive as a learner with safety and control, built a massive improvement for my driving skills, and made the driving test easy . He constantly believed in me and always wanted to best for me has helped me pass. Im sure im not the best learner as I was always overthinking haha , but one thing im definitely sure is Lance is definitely the best instructor there is out there. And now that I have passed my driving test I’m confident to say my Life after lance is going to change for the better thanks to his amazing knowledge. ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU TO LANCE 😁😁🔥!!

Had a great 3 hour motorway lesson with Mohammed today. I passed back in September with another school and hadn’t driven since and also not been on a motorway before but he was very quick to get me confident again and learning all the basics for motorway, dual carriageways and country road driving. Very easy to get on with and answered any questions I had. Definitely recommend him and the driving school as a whole.

I had a great experience learning to drive with my Maliyr. He was very patient, highly skilled, and always explained things clearly. What helped me the most was how he built my confidence behind the wheel. Even when I made mistakes, he stayed calm and supportive, which made learning much easier and less stressful. I’m so pleased to have found Herne Hill Driving School and my instructor Salim. After years of starting and giving up on learning to drive, I quickly started to see progress with Salim. He is very patient and encouraging and has a way of making things make sense. He’s also extremely reliable - no cancelled or rearranged lessons which meant I was able to build my skills and confidence week on week. I passed my driving test three weeks ago with Herne Hill driving school and I had Clive as my instructor. Originally I had been with Reds driving school, but could never get enough lessons to feel I had consistent growth and comfort behind the wheel. I could drive, but I never felt settled. With Herne Hill Driving School I got as many lessons as I felt I need with Clive. In my first lesson with him he told me directly that he was going to teach me how to pass the test, which is something I had a lot of worry over. He worked on making sure I felt comfortable while driving and knew how to handle any stress I might have while driving. If you want a taster lesson with Clive please ask Herne Hill to put you in contact with him. He will definitely map out a route for you and it’s best to listen to his recommendation on test area, as that can make all the difference on the day. Thank you Sarah and Clive.

I'm an experienced driver from overseas, but that can make it much harder to learn the tips and tricks to pass a UK test - breaking bad habits ;-) Harish is a kind, patient, calm and knowledgable teacher. I honestly can’t thank Mo enough for everything he’s done for me. I passed my manual driving test first time, and I truly couldn’t have done it without him. Mo is hands down one of the best manual driving instructors out there. He’s professional, calm, and incredibly patient — which makes such a difference when you’re learning to drive.
