Great location and reasonable rates. However I waited an hour for a van even with a booking. Was then given a dirty van, with zero fuel. Manager called and apologised and offered to refund half the van hire with my deposit. I was grateful for the gesture. Only ever received the deposit back.
Brilliant service from beginning to end, with the best prices and most convenience in Basingstoke. The online booking system was super easy, and Pete was really communicative before and after the booking - everything was just really simple. I’ve never received such a comprehensive handover of a van before but Pete went through the vehicle in detail and sent through an email with the inspection report which you don’t get everywhere. The van was clean and perfect for the job we needed it for, and we had no issues with it at all. We’ll definitely use Herd again if we need a van in the future!
I had a good experience with Herd at Basingstoke when recently hiring a Luton van from them to help with a house clearance. It was a pretty competitive price and the office 'team' ... Pete ... was great to deal with and very helpful.
The only reason for knocking a star off my review was that the back of the van had not been swept out before the hire ... and someone had (accidentally) cleaned the inside of the windscreen with car wax and so as soon as the sun came out a white fog hindered my view.
