I recently engaged Gavin from Harding Consulting to obtain a Certificate of Acceptance (CoA) to convert a recreational space into a studio flat I built inside a steel shed, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. I got Gavin’s phone number for Harding Consulting and contacted him regarding an issue for what I was told was an unpermitted portion of my house. He responded to my text immediately and we spoke the following day during business hours. After meeting him and going over my problem he went away to work on it for me. Within half an hour he called with good news and emailed his professional findings within the hour! I could never have navigated this on my own - his expertise, honesty, professionalism and work ethic are second to none. I recommend Gavin 1000%. In 2017 we undertook the biggest challenge of our lives subdividing and building our own home. After project managing the whole build by 2019 we moved into our new home exhausted from the challenge of dealing with contractors and council. Both were very 50/50. Next thing covid hit and before I knew it we’d been in our home for 4 years with no code compliance certificate. We’d had our final inspection and had 3 small things to finish but I just muster the motivation to chase the last producer statements from the several difficult or disorganised contractors and litany of paperwork that needed to be provided to get everything across the line. In late 2023 I found out about Harding Consulting and felt like I’d stuck gold. I contacted Gavin and explained our situation. Gavin took control, systematically working through the items required to get our CCC. I can not praise him enough. Where I would have wanted to cause physical harm to some of the stubborn individuals needing to be dealt with, Gavin was calm and resolute, holding his ground and siting the code and relevant precedents to move things forward. We finally have our CCC and better still my sanity. One of the best things from my perspective is this was all done by Gavin in Blenheim dealing with Auckland Council. It doesn’t matter where you are in the country if you need a consummate professional to help you navigate the challenge of consents or compliance - Gavin is the man you want to deal with!
