I was very pleased with my whole experience with Happy Tree Service, From their prompt response to my initial inquiry on their web site and Evan's subsequent visit to develop an estimate for the job. Evan is knowledgeable and was forthcoming with recommendations to achieve our desired results with the best outcome for the trees without attempting to oversell unnecessary services. His estimate was reasonable for the work needed. When I had questions about scheduling and eventual payment details while awaiting a date for the job, Bailey from the office responded to my emails promptly, professionally and courteously.
Happy Tree Service requires payment immediately on completion of the work, which is reasonable, but the crew cannot accept payment. There is a 3% processing fee for credit card payments, a practice I disagree with. In my initial contacts with Bailey at the office we agreed that I could pay with an e-check mailed from my bank and she said they would waive the late fee, if that should happen.
The day before the job was scheduled I received an email requiring a 50% deposit, which came as a surprise since it was not mentioned in the original proposal, and the only payment options offered were to allow them access to my checking account, which I never do or pay by credit card. Not wanting to delay the job, I charged the deposit, which upset planned management of my credit balance during the current billing cycle. I called the office and explained the situation and Bailey promptly refunded the payment and confirmed our original payment arrangement. I immediately set Happy Tree Service up as a payee in my bank's online banking, submitted an e-check for the deposit and called Bailey to let her know that the deposit was on its way.
The crew appeared on the scheduled date, consulted with us to ensure we agreed on the appropriate limbs targeted for removal, worked efficiently, took all the necessary measures to protect the health of the trees and cleaned up all debris before leaving.
In sum, a ten star performance.

I am very happy with the service I received from Happy Tree Service. I called the office, and Bailey returned my call promptly and set an appointment up for the arborist to come out to get an estimate. The arborist had an estimate quickly and was honest about a damaged tree that could not be cut back because of disease. The deposit was very easy to use from the email with the proposal. Once the proposal was approved and the deposit was given, an appointment was set up for the crew to come out. The crew did a great job and cleaned everything up nicely. When I had a question about the job, Bailey was quick to get an answer back to me. I would recommend Happy Tree Service. I feel they were reasonably priced and did honest work.

Happy Tree has been great to work with! Joel came out and provided an estimate within a couple days of my call, and was very patient with all of my questions. The estimate was reasonable, and I love that my trees don't have that 'freshly chopped' look I 've gotten from prior companies - they just look healthy and beautifully shaped.

We had Happy Tree do extensive trimming on the oaks on our property. They did an excellent job in thinning out where was needed while maintaining the beautiful canopy of our mature trees. It was a true tree service as opposed to guys just attacking with a chainsaw. I’d highly recommend Happy Tree for service and to maintain the integrity of the tree canopy and appearance of your yard. Happy Tree Service always provides friendly and careful crews after a thorough consultation with one of their certified arborists. Over the past few years they’ve provided us with pruning of our live oaks, storm debris removal and removal of several trees.

We recently had Happy Tree Service prune our 2 front and a single rear oak based on neighbor recommendations. All our trees were seriously over-grown but the crew made FAST work and did a great job cleaning up afterwards (painted cuts & collected trimmings/leaves). Joel & Evan came to do the quote beforehand and took the time to explain the process they'd take before scheduling the work (which took about 2+ weeks after the quote). Happy with the work and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Highly recommend Happy Tree for tree removal services! I had 4 estimates donw with different companies around Austin and they offered the quote with the best value, by far. They were always communicative and took care of the back and forth with Travis County to get the tree removal permits, making it a seamless experience. They've were very accommodating with scheduling and even helped me determine how much mulch to keep from the tree I removed, to cover a cartain area of my yard. very helpful team!
