We were traveling from Louisville, KY through Albuquerque to attend our mother's funeral in CA when we had an issue with our 2012 bug. A local VW dealership recommended Hans Wittler. That was the best advice we could have been given. We called and Nathan answered the phone. He was kind and professional. He called us a tow with Bones Towing. The gentlemen who arrived to tow was so talkative and entertaining that our stress was completely gone. What a blessing. Then Nathan's team took us to a hotel for the evening. We were treated with such kindness and consideration that my normally negative husband declared "there are still good people in this world". The next morning they came and got us with an issue resolved VW. WE WERE BLESSED BY THESE PEOPLE. Father as Hans Wittler has blessed us, I ask for blessings upon this company and all employees to be multiplied. I declare favor upon the all. Touch them and aid them. The service is excellent and very thorough. I was provided with options for the service my vehicle needed. I really enjoyed the friendly experience. I highly recommend them for your BMW and Audi vehicles.

Hans Wittler is an outstanding automotive repair shop. They specialize in German vehicles. They provide exceptional service. They are the best in the State of New Mexico. The mechanics are great and more importantly they are honest people. Wonderful family run business, and I recommend them to all my friends.

My friend, who is a woman, felt this shop was trying to take advantage of her. I offered to help, and I visited the shop to meet with the owner. My friend had paid $189 + tax to have this shop run a diagnosis on her VW Jetta. After the diagnosis they discovered the car needed a new ECM (electronic control module). The estimate at that time to purchase a new ECM and install it was $2,122.50. The estimate also included numerous items not at all related to the reason the car was brought in for service. After sending the estimate to my friend, Bryan, who works at the shop, told my friend they were going to look into it some more to see if something else could be the problem. All this time my friend was forced to take Uber and Lyft everywhere, including to and from work. Because they had not done anything on the vehicle for over a week, I offered to help my friend by visiting Hans Wittler at 5701 Wilshire Ave NE in Albuquerque. On June 26, 2025, I met with Andreas, the shop owner (and Hans' son), and we discussed the repair. He told me the car was "a tough one" because he wasn't sure what exactly was wrong with it. All he knew was the car kept blowing fuses, and my friend paid over $800 to replace the two fuses and install a new battery. The shop off Central told her the car needed a new battery. Even after $800 in repairs the car blew another fuse, which brought it in to the shop a third time. As previously stated, they had been dragging their heels and I wanted answers and a concrete timeline. My friend does not make a lot of money and ride-sharing was costing too much. Andreas informed me they needed to run "component protection and reinitialize everything." Whatever that means. He agreed the ECM rarely goes bad, and I mentioned the quote of $2,123 to replace it was high. Andreas admitted he had already searched online and found a used ECM on ebay, and when I asked, he told me to my face the repair would be $500-$600 parts and labor to replace and install the used ECM. Then I paid $300 toward the car with the idea it could move it to the front of the line. Andreas also told me he would spend additional time diagnosing the automobile. When paying, I gave specific instructions to Bryan to call me and not my friend. Bryan never called me. I'm confident he prefers speaking with women, who he may feel he can intimidate and manipulate. Instead, he sent a new bid via text to replace the used ECM for $1,167.00. That $1,167 quote was $596 higher than the amount Andreas had already quoted me when I was standing right in front of him. She was unaware of everything that happened during my meeting with Andreas and before she learned of the promise Andreas made to replace and install the ECM for $600, she signed the new order for the higher amount. Moreover, we are certain they did nothing in terms of additional diagnostic work which Andreas promised they would undertake because when she received the second bid the only thing that changed was the price. All of the images and text were from the first bid. The amount to pay to install the used ECM should have been $300 plus tax, after the $300 I paid on June 26. BEWARE OF THIS CAR REPAIR SHOP. The owner himself will provide a firm price to perform service, and then double it. Not to mention, they include "suggested" repairs not asked for and not related to the original problem. If you must patronize this shop and you don't know much about cars please take someone with you that does know about car repair. Or find a different, honest shop. Ask friends or check out Reddit.

Got an oil change for my F30 since it's been too hot to do myself, and they inspected everything else free of cost. Pretty good price considering most places try to charge over $200. They even drove me to work free of charge after dropping off my car. Everyone was super cool, they recommended a few extra jobs but weren't predatory like alot of mechanics, no smart a** attitude when I politely declined the service recommendations... unlike some other places. Would highly recommend checking them out!

Those of us that own these beautiful, yet incredibly expensive to maintain, vehicles tend to be very selective on who we let service our "babies". I completely trust the phenomenal staff at Hans Wittler. From the ease of scheduling appointments via their state-of-the art website, to the friendly service advisement and skilled mechanical and technical services provided to the vehicle, you can't beat their personal attentiveness and expertise. I particularly love their attention to detail. Every service starts with an honest, upfront estimate prior to work commencing. Then, the invoice and final "check-out" has a thorough listing of suggested subsequent work, including a clear rating of the things that require immediate attention vs. optional services. They even include pictures! The cost may be high, but hell, you get what you pay for! If you are looking for dedicated care for you and your vehicle, look no further than Hans Wittler. Hans Wittler’s Automotive Service was recommended by a friend. So this is my first visit. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and professional. I had an oil change and battery replaced for my Mercedes 2021. They went over a checklist of things they inspected, fluids they filled, and things that might require attention soon and in the future. I was very satisfied with the service and will be back. For this great service, I traveled 1-1/2 hrs. from the Espanola area & appreciated the business location is on the north side of Albuquerque avoiding most early morning rush hour traffic. Wait time was a little long (4 hrs.) but might have a better plan on how to work with that on my next visit.

Professional, knowledgeable, able to schedule with ease, and fast turnaround. I cannot say enough good things about this place! Will be my new go to for my vehicle's service.
