Customer Feedback to Hana Korean language school/ Crystal Learning .
I am disappointed with the recent experience encountered. Customers were not informed in advance about the additional charge for class recordings for level 2 class. The sudden implementation of this policy, without prior communication, is unacceptable.
The charge of $54.90 for class recordings – equivalent to $5.49 per class – is unreasonably high. It feels unfair to impose such high costs on students without transparency or consent. Also when I was at level 1, class recordings were not chargeable at all yet it becomes chargeable to a repeat customer.
Due to this issue, I am giving Crystal Learning Centre a rating of 2 out of 5. Reference to this experience, I will not be recommending this centre to my friends or colleagues.
I hope the management will take this feedback seriously and improve communication and pricing policies moving forward.

Thank you for your kind feedback. While recordings were never truly free, they appeared so to the end user because they were subsidized by the company. However, this practice has recently become unsustainable due to rising costs associated with cloud recordings. Additionally, we have received PDPA warnings for offering cloud recordings with unlimited viewings, as some students feel uncomfortable having their faces in the videos without proper safeguards from the company.
To continue providing access to recordings, we need to develop a platform that offers limited access. These changes come with associated costs for the company. As of December 2024, we have updated our policies to implement a small fee for accessing recordings. This fee is not intended for profit; rather, it is necessary to cover our operational costs.

I have really enjoyed learning Korean with Teacher John Park. Every lesson is well-structured, fun, and easy to follow. He always takes the time to explain things clearly and makes sure that we understand before moving on. I feel much more confident with speaking and listening to Korean now.
John Park 선생닌 is a very genuine and patient Korean teacher who goes the extra mile to make sure you really learn Korean language. He picks up where you are at, e.g. Your English language ability and links it to how u can apply it to Korean.
Classes are fun because of the constant interaction and applications to real-life scenarios. I feel that I am equipped with the basic knowledge to understand Korean language after class 1!!
Will update after future classes.
Mi Kyung 선생닌 's lessons has always been fun and interactive, she take time to help us understand the concepts well before moving on to the next topic and is always challenging us to practice speaking korean! I've enjoyed her lessons so much that I've signed up for another term.
Thank you! MK 선생닌!
Went for my first lesson and was placed in the level 1 beginner class although I took a placement test and was able to read and speak korean already (just did not have the proper grammar).
It felt like I was placed in the class to make up for the numbers to start running the class. After the first class I asked why I was placed in that class and they just told me it was because of my grammar which will only be covered in the last 2 topics of that term's class which seems like a total waste of money.
I am now asking for a change in class to be in a class with slightly higher difficulty but they were unable to form a class and now that I am asking for a refund they told me that they can only put in a request and that the money paid for the 2 books (a textbook and a workbook) can't be refunded since i wrote on it already which I do understand, but charging $50 for these 2 books is a ridiculous amount lol.
Sadly, due to the logistics of things here I don't recommend this place although my teacher was really nice.

Hi thank you for your feedback! There are grammars throughout B1 and B2. Of particular importance is the grammar in topic 5 where you learn the root word of a number of key verbs. Though it's true that your self study journey might equipped you with the knowledge of hangul in unit 1 (first 2 classes) but you will benefit from the remaining 8 lessons as Korean is more than knowledge of hangul. Grammar is also very important which is in all the units. Including the first 2 lessons.
