*Be careful when you sign a retainer agreement with Denis. His contract contains with that you cant even have a chance to review your receipt at the court!!! I was not happy with his invoice so requested my invoice at court, but it got dismissed because of one clause that I give up arguing about an invoice something. He didn’t explain to me about it at all when we signed. *If he is a honest lawyer, Why he needs that clause?
I was Denis client from Dec. 2023 to middle of March 2024.
He sent me invoice over $4,800. Denis asked me to find other lawyer when I asked about the invoice and complained keep waiting. Since then we have not talked anything about my case anymore.
Denis asked me to restore $20,000 then he will continue to work.
However, I found a new lawyer then all of sudden, Denis sent me a new invoice over $1,040.
The first retaining fee was $5,000 Denis has not done anything, it was all junk emails between him and me and victim protection filled up and it was useless. .
He sent me the second invoice after he asked me to find a new lawyer.
I enrolled to the court to assess his invoice and I forwarded to Denis but he did not show up today.
Before I retained him, I felt Denis was very kind and he sent me very detail information but once I signed the retain agreement,
he was not responsible at all.
He charged most of invoices to make me wait so I sent him emails and useless victim protection from and have not use it.
Watch out////Denis will say to you that Find a new lawyer after he used all the retained money because he know you will get stress out to find a new lawyer and have to pay extra for the new reviewing.
Denis also said one of his client sued him now not just for involve, at the superior court. Denis said his ex-client`s lawyer is my old lawyer. Denis kept complained about my old lawyer but Denis did not do anything.
My old lawyer who has just over 1 year old experience but he worked much better.
Denis had no responsibility. He just took money.
I am very glad that I am done with Denis.

Allow me to correct a few of the false facts in your review. You were charged a total of approx. $6,000 to date, inclusive of disbursements and HST. You retained our firm midway through a case and we had to review the file from your previous lawyers, including to potentially deliver a Reply pleading. Further to that, we also began work on the discovery stage of your litigation, including the drafting of your Affidavit of Documents, the identification and production of your Schedule A documents, and the identification of your Schedule B documents. There were hundreds of documents we sorted through and prepared, a task made significantly more challenging by the complete disarray of your file. In any case, to say that we only charged you for emails (and the other form you refer to), is dishonest.
I asked you to find a new lawyer because you were constantly expressing your dissatisfaction with being invoiced for emails - you suggested you would obtain new counsel and then asked me to remain on the record. You did this a few times. This simply wasted more time with emails, which you did not want to pay for; in other words, you unilaterally created more work, which you did not want to pay for. As for the retainer top-up, you were asked to provide the requested top-up before we proceeded with in-depth preparation for and scheduling of examinations for discovery. You were previously advised that the discovery stage of the litigation is labour-intensive and, therefore, costly.
In terms of the assessment, I only received a message sent from your iPhone with an endorsement from the assessment office. It appears you never served me with the document scheduling the first appearance. Nevertheless, it is unfortunate that you have proceeded in this way given our retainer agreement stipulates that disputes (incl. about the fees) are to be resolved by arbitration under the ADR Chambers Regular Arbitration Rules. We'll deal with this matter in due course.
If you still wish to resolve the fee dispute, please feel free to reach out to me directly. However, it's important to be truthful in your reviews, as dishonesty serves no one.

Even though I did not retain the services of this firm. For a civil litigation case that I’ve been thrown into. The Lawyer that I was speaking with. Denis Grigoras was extremely helpful in the conversation that we had and relieving my stress and worries for this case. I contacted Grigoras Law by email to request a consultation to discuss my civil litigation/personal injury matter (due to the negligence, intentional wrongdoings to cause me physical and psychological harm, and nuisance by several other parties, and I’m trying to seek compensation and justice for myself), and the possibility of handling my case on a contingency fee basis as I’m on disability due to a chronic, lifelong illness.
