From booking my Norfolk Island holiday with Great Value holidays to waving goodbye to my fellow travelers after 8 days of a wonderful experience, I felt informed, included, valued and safe. All essential components for a solo travelers.Laura's (GVH), leadership, in planning, organizing, conducting an itinerary that flowed along a journey of historical discovery and current appreciation of this beautiful Island and its peoples.As a solo traveller, my appreciation to Laura and Amie, for their care and attention to my wellbeing. All members of the group received this attention but I was only solo.I did not have to worry about food, accommodation, tours etc. Should there be any changes or other tours I was fully informed with Laura ensuring my choices were met.Little or no internet was a blessing but essential to many. Connection with Resort WiFi with Laura's assistance ensured my family were informed and other members' needs met.Highlights-1.The people and their resourcefulness under often extreme circumstances and dedication to their families' history and the Island's future-despite the tyranny of distance and the distance of tyranny.2.The beauty of the whole Island and surrounds- awesome is not a strong enough word!3.The tour guides and venue hosts were not only informative and welcoming but reflected the attitude and layback yet supportive attitude to intergenerational Norfolk lifestyle. 4.The fish oh the fish. Yummeee!5.Accommodation was very good and the staff excellent. Complements to the chef.Cleanliness in rooms and facility very good.6.Shopping was excellent with the town offering bargains on quality and unique goods.7.Colleen Mc McCullough tour perhaps No 1 for me. What a gift to Norfolk and humanity!8. Little or no fresh fruit when we were there as drought severely affected bananas. A staple of Norfolk. All looking forward to a glut in 2 weeks. The people of Norfolk reminded me of my childhood when you ate what was there and when you could, you preserved for leaner months. All families share what they have.All my expectations and more were met and I came home refreshed, relaxed with memories and experiences that will last a lifetime.Thank you Great Value Holidays for my third (3rd) fantastic holiday in 18mths. I am about to book 3 more holidays in 2026 with Great Value Holidays.
