Good Dog Coaching did an amazing job with my dog, Mason! Terie and her team helped him break bad habits like jumping on people and pulling on the leash during his board and train program. Now he walks calmly in heel position, which makes our walks so much more enjoyable.
I also liked that they gave me homework while he was away, so I could stay consistent once he came home. I use their dog-sitting services when I travel and always feel confident Mason is in great hands.
Thanks, Terie, for making life easier and helping us enjoy our time together!
Thank you for your wonderful review, Jerry! We are thrilled to hear that Mason is making great progress and that you found value in the homework we provided. It's fantastic to know our dog-sitting services give you peace of mind while you travel. Your kind words mean a lot to us, and we appreciate your continued trust in Good Dog Coaching. We look forward to supporting you and Mason on your journey!

We have two dogs that we sent to Good Dog and it was so worth it! We tried group training, private training, and just doing it ourselves with some online training resources; however, our dogs had a lot of behaviors that needed addressed. We discovered Terie's team via a local social media group and after reaching out with our concerns and goals (she invested 2hrs in getting to know us/our dogs and the challenges up front!) I new this was what we needed! They not only trained our dogs but provided us with multiple owner/dog training sessions too! Yep, we had homework...Wow...we learned so much and all of us are living happier, more fulfilled, and enjoyable daily lives. Before training we could not groom them (aka trim nails), we could not take them anywhere (or enjoy company at our home) due to reactivty issues, we struggled on walks with them walking us, and they pretty much ruled the house. Since coming home from training we've followed the training protocols and reestablished our leadership role with them allowing them to become the best version of themselves while we all enjoy a much better quality of life together. We trim nails ourselves now (save money...yeah), we spend more time together as training is a part of our life not a 5-10 min session only...when we are working outside they can be with us with active or passive training occuring. When we need to go for a car ride they can ride safely/calmly with us. They sleep in their crate, in our room, and spend down time/break time there more peacefully. I highly recommend Good Dog Coaching for anyone bringing a dog into their home, wanting to improve their dog(s) behaviors, or wanting to improve their relationship with their dog. Thank you Terie, and team! We are so very grateful for meeting you and having the opportunity for our dogs to work with you...Ps. thanks for training us too. :-) We sincerely appreciate your 100% +++ efforts and totally felt how much you love yours/our pets and what you do!
Wow! Thank you so much for your kind and detailed feedback! It was such a pleasure to go on this journey with all of you (dogs and humans), and to see such a positive change in your overall relationship together. I love how your family works as a team for the betterment of the dogs. Your commitment is stellar! Thank you for placing your trust in us to walk this journey with you, it has been amazing and fun. I look forward to seeing updates of their progress and the adventures you can now have and enjoy together.

We love the information and coaching we received!! Thanks so much!!
If I could leave a sixth star, I certainly would. In January I adopted a puppy that was at first living in harmony with my other 2 dogs, but that eventually changed. After a serious fight between the puppy (Angel) and my male dog (Lucius) I brought Angel to Good Dog! for a board and train, and a short time later brought Lucius as well.
Both dogs came home highly trained & disciplined. Good Dog! emphasizes that educating dog owners is a critical part of their client's success, and without a doubt this is correct in respect to maintaining consistency with your dog's behavior. Angel & Lucius are now interacting safely with one another, and I can rest easier after learning just as much as my dogs did via Terie & her team's guidance.
Thank you Jon! It was such a pleasure to work with Angel, Lucius and you! Angel and Lucius are so different but as you know, both great dogs. You are doing a fantastic job of maintaining their training and therefore a balanced lifestyle. I'm excited for all of you to be able to live a safe and peaceful life together going forward. Thank you for the opportunity to train with you and for putting your trust in us.
*Warning - LONG review*
We've had our dog since she was a puppy. Since the beginning, she has barked at strangers. As she got older, her behavior became progressively worse. She was fear reactive with people, new/loud environments, and things (trash bags, vacuums, anything) and as first time pawrents we felt ill equipped to help her.
Prior to GoodDog! we sought out another training company that had various dog behavior certification and training credentials that every pawrent likes to see. Their program ranged from basic training for puppies to dogs with behavioral issues. This program's training philosophy was all about positive reinforcement and using food as a distraction/preventative reaction anytime the dog sees the trigger. They were anti-punishment or anything negative. I'm pretty sure they didn't even like using the word, "no" in training. (Very similar to YouTube videos that we used as a resource to try and train her ourselves.) The program we chose consisted of 6-8 two hr training sessions - some at their facility and some in our home/in public over the course of several months.
Unfortunately, despite the time and money we invested, our pup soon reverted back to her bad behavior. If anything, it became worse due to a negative experience that now included dog reactivity. Distractions using her love of food (walk over my dead body to get food kind of love) no longer worked. The straw that broke the camel's back was when she tried to bite my sister twice during a weekend visit. My sister has known her since she was a puppy and prior to these 2 incidents, they had a very good relationship.
Because the last training program was a failure, I was very selective with the next trainer we entrusted our dog to. This was our last resort, so I asked SEVERAL questions about her board and train program during our consultation call. In addition, I sent several emails with a list of questions after that call. I was hesitant about using an e-collar and prong collar as part of the training but after Terie took the time to educate me about the value in using these tools (when used appropriately), I felt comfortable using these tools. We had exhausted all other forms of discipline, and nothing worked with our headstrong, stubborn dog. She either ignored us or bit us when we tried correcting her.
Despite the fact that she's always busy and is typically training several dogs at one time, Terie was very patient and addressed all of my questions before the program, all of my texts during the program, and my texts after the program. Terie's program focuses on creating a calm state of mind for the dog and a structured set of rules for both dog and pawrents that results in a peaceful co-existence. Terie's program was amazing for us - our new coexistence is still a work in progress, but our lives are far better after going through this program. Thank you to Terie and her team for all the amazing work you do!!!
It was such a pleasure working with Ava (and you guys too!)! This pint sized pup definitely needed some confidence building as well as someone to advocate for her. Ava took to her training quite well and while initially had been reactive towards other dogs, eventually became the "Welcome Wagon" with each new dog she met at our place. She's sassy, smart and quickly became one of our favorite clients. She is welcome back any time and we will be here for ANY AND ALL future questions you may have. I love that you are so committed to her success. She's definitely going to throw you some curve balls (that's just who she is), but I am confident that you can handle it! Focus on the good stuff (because there is a lot more of it coming your way!), and we'll be here to help you going forward. Thank you for your kind review!!

Just wanted to give a huge shoutout to Terri Hanson at [@GoodDogTrainingAndPetCare] for the amazing work she did with my two-year-old dog, Maggie! After a month of training, Maggie is now a happy, well-adjusted, and wonderfully behaved dog. Terri went above and beyond—I couldn’t be more pleased.
Thank you James for your kind review. I am so happy for you and Maggie that you can now enjoy your walks together. It was a pleasure training with the both of you. I also love the updates of your continued progress together! Hugs to you both!

We are happy to recommend Terie, Gena and Good Dog highly!
Thank you April & Dave for the opportunity and pleasure of working with you and Jenna. What a great pup! Love the photo updates too. So happy you are enjoying Jenna 2.0 :P

We sent our dog, Apollo to their Board and Train program. Terie and her team worked with him on his separation anxiety and whining. He came back home to us new and improved, Apollo but a better, calmer, even more love-able version! Terie and her team were truly unbelievable, not only in training our dog but also in the knowledge they have, and their ability to explain everything and answer every question so we never felt in the dark. Currently
still in the first 90 days of Apollo being back home and while it takes a lot of discipline and education on our end too, we continue to see improvements in Apollo. The program is definitely an investment, but worth every penny if you're struggling with your dog and are able. We recommend to anyone looking for a good, trustworthy trainer!
Thank you Agustina for your kind review. We loved working with you and Apollo and being a part of his transformation. We also love the photo and video updates of his continued progress too! It is obvious that he is so much happier, calmer and I'm sure, enjoyable to be with. I love that you continue to take him out and about as this is crucial for his ongoing continuing education. I'm so proud of you and Patrick for your commitment to Apollo. Best wishes and thank you again for sharing your experience with us!!

In over 20 years as a veterinarian, I've seen a wide variety of trainers, styles and results. What I love about Terie Hansen and the team at Good Dog Coaching is the simple (not easy, but straight forward) process of behavior modification that they use, the excellent communication throughout the process, and the amazing results we are seeing with our two dogs.
Our 5 year old English Bulldog, Hugo, has had issues with reactivity, resource guarding, and had even bitten and charged family members. He has been under the care of a wonderful veterinary behaviorist and was on a significant amount of medication to manage his anxiety and behavior.
Our two kids were desperate for a dog that they could bond with. We brought a Golden Retriever puppy into the home this fall, and were unsurprisingly faced with threatening behavior from the bulldog.
We started with a 4 week board and train for the bulldog, followed by 4 weeks with Kaia, the puppy. They had a week to overlap and work together.
Throughout the process, we received updates, videos, photos and had lots of homework to prepare for their return. We are overjoyed with the results. Over the past 2 months, we’ve been able to wean Hugo off of his medications for the first time in years. He is calmer, more relaxed and less reactive. Kaia is loving the learning process with the family, and is adored by and adores the kids.
The work doesn’t stop here, but, because the drills and practice actually enrich and fulfill the dogs, it’s something we enjoy doing. We wholeheartedly recommend Good Dog Coaching!
It was truly a joy to work with you, your family and Hugo & Kaia. Thank you so much for the opportunity to join you on this journey and for being open to change! Remember this is a journey, not a destination! You are going to have great days, good days and not so good days. The cool thing is, as long as you give the dogs what they need, you'll continue to make progress. While it doesn't feel good to correct unwanted behaviors, it is necessary to keep your dog(s) out of trouble (and out of the ER.) You will make mistakes, as do we. Don't be afraid of this, it's a learning process. And always remember... We are here for you, forever! Really, you can't get rid of us :P Hugs from all of us here, and we can't wait to see you and the pups in the future!

Amazing training. If I had not seen it, I would not believe it! My dog is almost 5 yrs old and I had spoiled him rotten. He ran my house!! He pulled me on walks!!
It was so difficult for me to take him. You could tell in his face that he was “alpha”.
Now a totally different do. Loves his kennel, walks in the heel position, stays where I tell him, does not react to other dogs or people, does not jump on people and does not get on furniture.
I am so excited about this new life. Now I feel that I can take him places with me and feel totally comfortable!
Most of all, he is so relaxed and happy. None of my family can believe this is the same dog.
If you listen to these trainers and follow their guidelines, it is life changing. I can not sing their praises loud enough!! Well worth the cost. Only regret- not doing it sooner. Thank you to the trainers and Good Dog Training. They deserve being # 1 in Gwinnett , if not the state!!
Thank you Gail for your kind review. I am so happy for you and Grizz and excited for the adventures ahead of you! It was such a pleasure training with you both. I admire your commitment to change for Grizz's best interest. As we always say, "We can train dogs, but it's the owner's follow through that seals the deal." You are clearly "sealing the deal!". So proud of YOUR transformation. Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to be a part of your journey with Grizz.

Terie is an absolute genius with dogs and people. Make no mistake, dog training without owner training is a waste of time. Terie turned Oscar (4 month old Airedale with superiority issues), into a happy energetic obedient adolescent. You have to understand Oscar, at 3 months he was defiant, and dominant. When I corrected him he wouldn’t listen and he would snap his jaws at me. I’ve owned many dogs (all terriers), but never encountered one as willfull as Oscar. Terie took over his training with home visits when he was 4 months. I soon became clear that Oscar was destined for Terie’s Board and Train program. The transformation was miraculous. Terie worked with my family and me to show us how to continue Oscar,s training. He is 6 months old now and an obedient puppy. We can’t thank Terie and her Good Dog staff for the work they’ve done. We will continue to work with Terie as needed for Oscar as he matures into a young adult.
Thank you Karl! It was so fun working with Oscar and your family! He came in like a hurricane and went out like a spring breeze :) He is no doubt in the right hands with you as his owner. I know you both will enjoy years of fun together as he will definitely keep you on your toes :P We'll be here if you need any help or support as it has been our pleasure to serve you!

My dog went for board and train. She was a stubborn puppy when she left and a well mannered pup when she came home. Terri and her team are fabulous!
Thank you Corinne for your kind review! We love that you are enjoying a better relationship with Jasmine. She is such a great dog!! She definitely made us work for it but it was well worth the final outcome. Thank you for placing your trust in us and for your continued commitment to Jasmine and her training!!

We did the 4 week Board and Training with our dog, Connor. Before going to training, Connor was a hot mess. He wouldn't follow commands, he jumped on people, he stole food off the counter and worst of all, he would run off and take forever to come back. We are so impressed with the training Terie and Gina provided Connor (and us)! They kept us updated with texts and social media posts during the 4 weeks and gave us plenty of information to implement the training at home. Now, Connor happily follows his commands and doesn't indulge in his wild behaviors. We highly recommend anyone use Good Dog! for their dog's training needs.
Thank you Alyssa for your kind review! It was such a pleasure training with you all! It was so great see how calm Connor was at his follow up session. You guys are doing a great job following through and staying committed to the process. What a lucky pup Connor is to have you all on his side. He did make quite a turn around in behavior and we are so proud of him and so happy that he finally knows how to relax!! This is a testament to the fact that the RIGHT kind of training can make all the difference. Thank you for not giving up on Connor! He is an amazing dog. We look forward to updates on his progress and to hopefully hosting him for boarding when you travel. Hugs to Connor! And thank you for putting your trust in us!

Would 100% recommend Terie and her team they have done miracles with both my girls Abby being a puppy 6 months and Sophie being 7 yrs old. I wanted to start Abby of on the right foot because Sophie had some very bad habits that I would think were okay for a dog turns out they weren’t and they were getting out of hand like she was very loud, reactive, hated being around other dogs, not social at all, wouldn’t always listen, would bark at the slightest sound and view of people or animals , would excessively bark at guest entering the house, and demanding. Abby in the other hand was mimicking every move and action of Sophie, also having accidents inside the house and taking to consideration that I had previously had Abby go to another trainer before Terie that had no change in any of Abby’s bad behaviors honestly Abby came back home with worst issues being destructive and very demanding with everything. After speaking with Terie on the phone I felt so much more confident that I was making the right decision in sending them with her specially because I was hesitant in the remote collar idea but after Terie explained to me how it worked and that it wasn’t something cruel to use on dogs specially as small as Abby and Sophie being. I was truly uninformed and Terie took the time to explain everything so clearly to me I felt from the first call that she knew what she was doing. Good Dog! Coaching & Pet Care has been a life changer I can’t recommend them enough I was honestly so disappointed in Abby at the beginning that I was considering giving her away do to the fact that neither Abby and Sophie were getting along and thanks to Terie and Gina all has became more peaceful now they enjoy each other’s company. They are so well behaved everyone in my street will stop and ask me how I did it but I always say no it wasn’t me it was Good Dog! Coaching & Pet Care.
Thank you Iris! It was truly a pleasure training with Abby & Sophie. They are amazing little dogs. I am so proud of you and the level of commitment you have with them and to maintaining their training. I love seeing you work with them and to see the joy and happiness in all of you. They surely have done a 360! Thank you for trusting us with them because we really enjoyed having them here and helping them transform into their best selves. Thank you also for taking the time to share your experience <3

We absolutely love Terie and her team!
Mercy started with some in home training when we first brought her home, so we had the start of a good foundation, but since we were not consistent with the continued work needed, she slipped into some bad habits. Terie always had said that Mercy would be a great candidate for the remote collar training and boy was she right.
We enrolled her in the 4 week board and train program with remote collar, and it was a game changer for our girl and us!
Mercy had ongoing issues with breaking to the door, always in an excited state, not coming when called, chasing chipmunks and other prey, not dropping a toy, just to name a few of our opportunities.
We have had Mercy home now for 3 weeks and she is a much improved dog and we are improved owners!
We highly recommend Good Dog! Coaching & Pet Care!
Thank you Jayne & Betsy for the opportunity to train with you and Mercy. What a great dog! I am so proud of you all for your effort and consistency in fulfilling Mercy's needs. She will no doubt continue to progress with your implementation of the training you and she have received. Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to review us. We look forward to seeing you all soon and hosting Mercy whenever needed!

Our Labrador puppies were extremely excitable and basically uncontrollable before entering the Board and Train program with Terie and Good Dog Coaching & Pet Care. The transformation was quite miraculous and our puppies are now well behaved and quite pleasant to be around ( which I could not say before). We now have the information and tools to continue developing our dogs according to the Good Dog way.
Terie delivered excellent service in coaching not only our dogs, but educating us as owners too. It’s definitely a learning process and we appreciate her continued support.
HIGHLY recommend!!!
Thank you Kelly for your kind review and for the opportunity to train with Rebel & Remy. Wow! What a wild (and I do mean wild :P ) ride with these two pups Reb & Remy. They came in like lions and went out like lambs, didn't they?! What a pleasure to see how you and Owen are maintaining their training at our follow up sessions. You both are killing it!! What a wonderful life these two pups (and their owners) will have going in forward. I'm so proud of you all, because I know it wasn't easy hanging on until we had an opening for training. When they first arrived, they were like Tasmanian devils! You weren't kidding when you said they were out of control! But look at them now! Amazing! Your consistency and commitment to the process and follow through will make all the difference for many years to come.
