The tour was BEAUTIFUL. Matt was a great pilot, surprisingly smooth experience. It was very easy to find the hangar and plane was as comfy as a small 4-seater can be. Matt gave solid info during the flight an pointed out all the glaciers and peaks we were seeing. The windows were clean so pictures came out GREAT. Can't recommend enough.
Our first Alaska trip, and all we can think about is returning! Matt at Goat Mountain Air was such a great host and pilot for our 45 min flight. I felt exhilarated yet safe and at ease, and what I enjoyed most other than life changing scenery was his enthusiasm about what he sees often! I felt like he was viewing Alaskan beauty as we were, and that’s so cool! It’s an experience we will forever remember…..until we return!

My husband and I had a fantastic time with Goat Mountain Air! Matt dropped us off and picked us up at a sweet public use cabin that's not too far from Girdwood but feels like a different world. Matt is an awesome pilot--very knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to communicate with. Looking forward to the next adventure!

I will spend the rest of my life trying to top this insanely cool experience. The plane ride out and back from Lake Clark seemed like the perfect excursion. I would've been happy with the plane ride alone, even if we didn't land the plane and walk alongside bears. The views were insane while in the plane and after touching down. The plane ride was perfectly smooth and we had the most epic time watching the brown bears so close. I felt super safe the entire time, even though I was a little nervous before the trip. I had my pilot friend look at Matt's credentials before I left for the trip and my friend was extremely impressed with Matt's flying experience. (Yes, I really was that nervous of flying, and yes all my nerves went away as soon as Matt introduced himself). He also carried bear spray and a bear gun which had me feel extra safe while on the ground. Matt kept a respectable distance from the bears and shared so many facts with us. There wasn't a single time during the trip where I felt uncomfortable. We had a delicious lunch from a local chef on the wings of the plane. Matt was extremely accommodating. He even dropped us off in Anchorage on the way back from Lake Clark. My husband and I agreed that in addition to the spectacular views and crazy interactions with bears, one of our favorite parts of the trip was talking with Matt. He is a super interesting guy and we hope to do more trips with him in the future. I cannot recommend highly enough to book a trip with Goat Mountain Air.

Matt is world class! We took a tour with him to Katmai to see the coastal brown bears. The flight experience was truly amazing & one of the highlights from our entire trip. Matt shared his stories of flying & backcountry skiing, which was just as fun as getting to see the bears. I can’t recommend Matt enough for any of your flight experiences!

Matt took my young 3-year-old son and I bear viewing in Lake clark. It was a wonderful afternoon! Any reservations i felt about going bear viewing with a child were completely dispelled when i saw not only how prepared and knowledgeable Matt was, but also the safe distance we kept from the bears, and how absolutely uninterested in us they were. My son loved flying in Matts plane and getting to see all the natural wonders that Alaska has to offer. I highly recommend Matt and his service, for any type of adventure, including a family-friendly one, that you desire!

We had such a fantastic time exploring the Kenai fjords with Matt and Roo- was the highlight of our trip to Alaska! Matt was an excellent guide and person, and made the whole experience incredible. The flight was a great way to see the area- I’d recommend it to anyone! Thanks Matt!!

Amazing day skiing the Isthmus at Spencer Glacier! We had a short weather window and Matt made it possible. The flight in was stunning—the perfect way to reach untouched terrain. Incredible line and skiing powder on May 13th was a treat! Can't recommend this experience enough

Our experience flying with Matt was everything we could’ve hoped for - can’t recommend him enough. The man’s been flying since he was 18 and knows the Chugach very well. Our flights were the smoothest bush plane flights I’ve ever been on. He’s also very friendly and accommodating - we reached out on short notice for a quick 4-day glacier camping/ski trip and he very kindly worked us in amongst his other groups. Whether a quick smash and grab, a multi week trip, or a “hey where would you go skiing with this weather window?” Matt is the responsive, knowledgeable, reliable pilot you want!
